  1. That’s a Victorian British saying, but we know Mae West made it famous in Hollywood. Ukrainians are double hard bastards and I have nothing but love and respect for them. Godspeed Zelensky, the most heroic leader of the 21st century, who set the example for others to follow. Send them your money, through your consulate, resources anything you can. And write to your representatives across the free world to demand they double down and do more! Long live Ukraine.

  2.  @benganchan1420  : America wasn’t defeated in Afghanistan. Not when you remember it’s initial objectives. They just didn’t know when to leave, and failed at nation building. You’re right that Putin will find he has the same problem here. His people don’t want it. His soldiers are way less enthusiastic than American and British troops, and the people of Ukraine have already frightened the Russian army into shelling cities from a distance. They daren’t engage close enough to actually, “occupy,” anything, because Russian soldiers don’t want to shoot down people that Putin has spent the last 20 years convincing them are same as them. They’re demoralised.
