Cops are quitting their jobs in unprecedented, massive numbers, all over America. They’re, “blaming,” the fact that they keep getting, “punished,” for doing their jobs.
What genuinely surprised me was not that this is happening, but that the news coverage on both left and right wing news sites claim that these are, “alarming rates,” like we should be worried about it? Thugs are seeing that they can’t get away with murdering, torturing and taking out their rage on suspects any more. People who should never have worn the uniform are leaving in droves. We should be delighted, shouldn’t we?
A new bread of cop is coming, and that’s what we need. You can’t, “train,” a Chauvin into not being a thug, and we shouldn’t want such people, ever. The literal FORTUNES alone, that the tax payer could save, if police departments were willing to apologise for mistakes and wrong doing, instead of using massive payouts as their way to avoid apologies, would make us all rich!
The policing system is broken. And the DOJ’s root and branch review will only prove that. I just hope they put in the very obvious solutions?

Frankly, it’s a wonder that such a story even gets coverage in modern America, let alone having it’s significance explored in any meaningful way! Thank you for reporting on this, and for recognising it’s importance.
This guy thinks he’s the villain in an Indiana Jones movie, or something! What bothers me is that the DA KNOWS they have to let it go! Their only other option is to waste millions in tax payer dollars, trying to prove what a lying POS this guy is, and his, “lawyers,” even more so!
After a long trial, they’ll establish that he and his legal advisors had been incompetent, stupid, and egregiously, wilfully obtuse, TO A LEGALLY PROVEN STANDARD, making them look like categorical morons in the eyes of the law, with just enough, “deniability,” to avoid jail time. When we will all know the TRUTH was that they were just lying assed thieves and smugglers, enriching themselves with the stolen birthright of a war torn, impoverished, peoples, who were made that way by the meddling of greedy fossil fuel barons, who had their own greedy fossil fuel baron in the White House, willing to meddle on their behalf and tear their country apart in an illegal war . . . “Just more of the fallout from generations of GOP Nation Building folks. Nothin’ to see here . . .” 🙄

@sgtsmu7689 : When did that EVER happen? You have no examples. The Mueller Report, maybe? Because you’re brainwashed into forgetting how it’s first chapter resulted in the CONVICTIONS of Donny’s ENTIRE CAMPAIGN TEAM, with the exception of Donny himself, hiding behind, “immunity,” and Rudy, who’s about to be indicted? The rest of that report is just one criminal obstruction after another! So, we’re still waiting for the INVESTIGATION to HAPPEN! You don’t seem to CARE that Donny has ripped YOU off, repeatedly? Because he’s a racist? Is that all it is? You’d toss away our hard won democracy for a King? Why don’t you all go back to Russia and live there? I’m sure Putin will grant you all a piece of Siberia, to live out your dream of a Fascist Dystopia? But, in America, it’s just NOT HAPPENING. Get over him, traitor . . .🙄

Think about it, people? If this is NOT a CONSPIRACY between Left AND Far Right, what is? Are you telling me that NO SENIOR COP, or politician, or News Anchor in this video has actually EVER looked up what, “defund the police,” ACTUALLY MEANS???
Literally EVERYBODY wants the cops to fight crime, detect crime and prevent crime, right? Literally EVERYBODY would prefer it if cops DIDN’T have to be social workers, psychiatric nurses, body guards for corporate goons, or debt collectors turning people out of their homes for the banks, right? They can’t ALL NOT KNOW what, “defunding the police,” actually means??? They HAVE TO BE FAKING IT??? 🤷♂️

Literally true. Even Medieval Surfs NEVER had Plague Deniers or Anti-Leachers! Let THAT sink in! Back in the 90’s, we all thought the internet was going to revolutionise high speed information, making the average person degree level smart. But, that was before terms like, “confirmation bias,” “endorphin addiction,” and disinformation websites, like, “I’m-Always-Right-Dot-Com,” became common in all households. Now we know that people should have to pass IQ tests and be free of any criminal history BEFORE being issued with a LICENSE to use social media, but it’s too late. The internet spread STOOPID like a plague, for which there’s no apparent cure! Still, there is something Darwinian about the suicide Qult of Karens in the Alt-Wrong mob, so . . . Maybe the problem will fix itself? 🙄👍

Karens always seem to want to get into a BOGUS, “Socratic Dialogue,” which is just a, “chain of reasoning,” that is pre-determined in their case, instead of open to a two way discussion: a form of verbal entrapment with their, “destination,” having been clearly marked out from the start. 🤦♂️ Probably, the best way to short circuit all that crap is to ignore it completely, and stick to the case in point, “This store has the right to refuse you service, and your remaining on the premises is now trespass. You can debate that to your heart’s content, with the appropriate people, the court, NOT us. Either leave immediately or be arrested. End of . . .” 🤷♂️ No further discussion is needed. Cop’s time is valuable, and should NEVER be wasted on bogus debates.

It was not clear to me how (or, in what way?) that police officer broke the law? I believe what you’re saying, and what the representative said during the incident, that it was most likely racial profiling. They seem to make up any slight, “pretext,” to pull black people over, hoping to find something from a background check, when they get their ID. That’s fishing and targeting. And I bet it would be really easy to show statistics that prove black men in particular (maybe black women too?) get stopped more than any other minority, or than white people, in the first place.
But, the title for this video was Click Bait and I didn’t like that. No one explained what laws the police officer broke, and it sure wasn’t apparent from the video. I still don’t think he broke the law. Just that he exploited the weaknesses in the law, which is something that needs to be addressed.
That’s the danger of a Click Bait title. Now people think that cop should be pursued, for breaking the law. Instead of wanting to see a change in the law itself, and changes in police training and practices. That’s what the representative was calling for, from that individual officer. If we are to back him up, we need to address the actual issue, surely? Not conflate it with other incorrect ones, which only serve to confuse the issue and madden people when they see nothing come of it.
If I missed it, I apologise. But, what law was broken?

I wonder if such people ever stop and think, “How did my life go so wrong?” In the way a grave robber might think, “This is not how I saw my life turning out,” as he wipes rotting flesh from his hands? The guy makes a living, screwing over the weakest minded, most vulnerable, credulous idiots, for their cash and rage. Either that, or he’s actually sincere, which just makes him mentally ill! Either way, he cannot be a happy camper. I’m glad Carl & Benjamin take the time to show his evil to the rest of us. This is what happens if you don’t study at school, kids. ✌️

Literally: Texas is an Oligarchy, where the, “politicians,” are bought and paid for, wholesale, by the fossil fuel barons who own the place. And, if any of you are SERIOUS about, “change,” in Texas, THEY are your target. If you get Exon, Shell, and the rest to change their attitudes, every last one of their branded steers that calls themselves, “Congressman,” “Senator,” or, “Governor,” will do EXACTLY what their fossil fuel bosses tells them to! Y’all know I’m right.

I saw a news story, just yesterday, saying that cops are leaving the force, all over America, “in alarming numbers,” because they’re constantly under public scrutiny and being attacked in the press. My immediate comment was, “Should we be, “alarmed,” at all? Or relieved?” Cops are starting to realise that routinely beating up suspects is no longer business as usual. Will Smith observed, “police brutality hasn’t increased, we’re just recording it now.” It’s like they honestly don’t know it’s NOT OK to abuse the public. They think the public is supposed to, “respect mah authorataugh!” They don’t even KNOW they’re supposed to be SERVANTS with a HUMBLE attitude toward the public! I think we’re going to see more mass resignations and early retirements and I say GOOD! It’s time for a new bread of cop. Long overdue. 👍

Well said, sir! It was the boldest and best executed exit plan, since the Martial Plan broke the will (and wallets) of the Soviet Union in the 1950’s! I’ve been arguing this all over the place. People don’t KNOW what a, “disaster,” looks like, if they think this was not a brilliantly carried out, well oiled machine of an operation! It’s an achievement that we can only hope history recognises?
And, the people who were so quick to evoke images of Saigon’s last days, are just historically illiterate, point scoring, grubby America Hating HACKS, who need to listen to Laurence O’Donnell for some PERSPECTIVE!
And you’re damned right we need more people like YOU to explain the REALITY on the ground, and fewer discredited armchair HACKS like Bolton, selling books off the failures and achievements of others! They only want him around because he was a senior advisor to trump’s government who now criticises trump’s EX-government.
What America NEEDS right now, is military veteran experts, like YOU to explain why this was such a massive success and a huge VICTORY for America! For America’s wallet, if nothing else!? But more credit is due the military personnel who did such an amazing job, while the ONLY people who were kicking their asses was the American press, on both sides, for ulterior motives, that had little to do with their, “interests” . . .
THANK YOU, for saying all of that. It NEEDED to be said! And for your service.

It’s a dumb name, for a pro-Conservative position. “Defunding,” means only paying cops to, “Police,” things. Detect crime, prevent crime, and catch criminals. It means no longer having to pay them to be psychiatric nurses, social workers and hired hands for big businesses, or collecting debts for the banks! Tell me? WHO DOESN’T WANT THAT???
Yes! THAT’S what the FIRST discussion should be about! If that politician had just asked that cop, “Do you know what, “defund,” means? Because I PROMISE you, you’re PRO-Defunding.” He would have made a truly viral video. But, he probably doesn’t know either!?

Any judge worth their salt will see her Tweet as a direct challenge to the court, and evidence as to Motive. If I were the judge, I’d be saying, “You openly stated that, among your motives for committing these offences, was the expectation of collusion by the state, and this court in particular, with your crimes. You did these things, BECAUSE you expected to evade punishment, counting on MY corruption and collusion. You have forced this court to respond by setting an example, and by making it clear to ALL insurrectionists that they CANNOT count upon state collusion, or deliberate dereliction of duty, In favor of a white suprematist’s childish expectations of government racism and collusion in serious offences against the state. I am therefore, compelled to give you the maximum sentence, so that America knows Justice is blind . . . especially to race. You talked your own way into your fate. You will serve 30 years, without the possibility of parole. Take her away.”

He’s totally milking it, and the best solution? WIN MORE DEM SEATS AT THE MIDTERMS. Make sure Biden gets a clear MAJORITY, and then we can make this Quisling GOP operative in Dem Clothing as irrelevant as he deserves to be. Sir, I love your concise, impassioned, honest delivery. Her Tweet is submissible as, “Evidence of Motive,” and in my fantasy, her judge says, “You openly stated that, among your motives for committing these offences, was the expectation of collusion by the state, and this court in particular, with your crimes. You did these things, BECAUSE you expected to evade punishment, counting on MY individual complicity, corruption and collusion. By your own words you have directly challenged the legitimacy of the American justice system. You have forced this court to respond to your statements, by setting an example, and by making it clear to ALL potential insurrectionists that they CANNOT count upon state collusion, or deliberate dereliction of duty, In favor of a white suprematist’s childish expectations of government racism and collusion in serious offences against the state. I am therefore, compelled to give you the maximum sentence, so that America knows Justice is blind . . . especially to race. You talked your own way into your fate. Just ONE PERSON, right? Just ONE grown up in that room, could have stood up and said, “Clearly, NEITHER of you have EVER looked up the term, ‘defund the police,’ or if you had, you would both AGREE!” Then bang their empty heads together and make them READ a definition, right? So they would both say, “Oh look? Turns out we both want exactly the same thing! We want cops to prevent crime, detect crime and catch bad guys, with well funded, staffed and equipped departments. And we want cops to do less social work, psychiatric nursing, body guarding of corporate goons and debt collecting for the banks! Who knew?” To which that guy would say, “Everyone! We ALL KNEW! The only people who don’t know, and who NEVER EXPLAIN IT, are cops, politicians and Alt-Wrong Hacktivists!”

This has to be a conspiracy between left and right? HAS to be! They both want the same thing! “Defund,” sounds like just, “taking away money.” Neither the politician nor that cop, nor sheriff Buzzcut, nor the anchor interviewing him KNOWS what the term ACTUALLY MEANS. Agreed. But tell me? Are you not exhausted by the fact that both the left AND the right actually AGREE about, “Defunding the police,” but only about 10% of the right actually knows what it MEANS? We HAVE TO come up with a NEW NAME for it! If you asked Sheriff Buzzcut there, “Would you prefer it if your deputies NEVER had to be social workers, psychiatric nurses, corporate goon’s body guards, or debt collectors for the banks? Would you be happier if they were well funded, well staffed and well equipped, to fight crime, detect crimes and catch bad guys?” What would he say? No? Obviously not.
And then, follow that with, “Did you know that THIS is what we mean by Defunding The Police?” He would tell you that’s not how it’s been explained to him! To which we would ask, “And that person who, ‘explained it to you’ . . . Was he called Ben Shapiro, or Alex Jones, by any chance?” And after Sheriff Shoot’em’up twists in his chair, turns red and says, “Maybe? . . .” We can explain that the left and right BOTH WANT THE SAME THING FOR ONCE! “The right LIED TO YOU, because it’s a dumb name for an obvious solution to a problem that a SIX YEAR OLD could have solved by now!”
The dumbest political disagreement (and embarrassment to America) since the He Who Smelt It Dealt It Wars of 1783! 🤦♂️

That is a really powerful argument. The hypocrisy of actually dealing with Carlson behind the scenes, a racist and an anti-American agitator of the type that would make Lord Haw Haw blush, is stunning. They need to cut him off. Talk about him in the context of, “Fox,” and the messages they’re broadcasting, without ever specifically identifying which, “personality,” is using any specific talking point, and refuse to show their propaganda at all; for the very reason that it is propaganda! I would love to see you debate these issues with people like Brian Stelter. Anyway. You speak perfect sense, and a moral truth that needs acknowledging, and soon! Thank you. ✌️👍

He would have saved the airports that hadn’t been invented yet, maybe? Then he would have surrendered. But, trump has picked the right general as his own reflection. They’re both racists who surrendered, so there’s that, right? Trump surrendered to the Taliban, quite literally. That’s why Mike Pompeo and Stephen Miller are the only two people from trump’s administration (who were actually involved) who still back trump’s moves. Mikey, because he signed the surrender, and Stevie, because he blocked all the migrant visas for our allies, and is the one responsible for all the red tape keeping them out now. Everyone else from trump’s presidency OR Biden’s presidency, ALL AGREE that Joe did a great job! Funny that? 🤔

@johnassal5838 : To be honest, I see some potential fixes, but I suspect that all politicians must be beholden to someone or other, or they’d have done them by now? I am interested to see what Biden could do if he won a clear majority at the midterms? But, I doubt even then that he would fix things root and branch? For example: Compulsory voting laws, with fines for those who don’t vote, and a felony record for repeat offenders? Like Australia? That way, you simply can’t get away with vote rigging of the type the GOP is doing currently, and you take their stick from them? And gerrymandering could be rendered useless with one single reform of the Electoral College; if they were forced to count votes, not points, for National Elections? The EC is an anachronism anyway, making a nonsense of the notion of, “one nation under God,” when they can disenfranchise the votes of over three million Americans to put the Dems out in favor of a child-man?! I’m genuinely surprised that no team of crack lawyers has not challenged the EC as being Unconstitutional? You wouldn’t even have to dissolve the EC either? Just reform its function for NATIONAL elections, where each vote SHOULD carry equal weight, with each voter already having an established equal stake in the outcome? But no one does, which leads me back to lobbyists, I guess? . . . ✌️

Gleefully laughing at this is not an appropriate or grown up response, ma’am. Think of the countless (mostly) women, who have come to this organisation for help with legal fees, legal guidance and moral support, for their own serious assault or harassment cases? Think of how disquieting the news of Time’s Up’s collusion with Cuomo must have been for those people? Only to now learn of the probable collapse of the organisation they turned to for help? It will only be the fact of all that money they’ve raised that will prevent the organisation from folding overnight. But, that very real, very serious issue, will not have gone away?
Perhaps you’ll be just as gleeful when someone commits suicide because of this? Because you just don’t like, “feeling,” patronised by famous people? Even though it never occurred to you to just change channel, or not read about things you don’t, “feel,” nice about, right? You couldn’t POSSIBLY be, “responsible,” for your own, “feelings,” right? You’ve been brought up to know all about your, “rights,” (both real and imagined) but none of your, “responsibilities,” social or political, right? . . . 🙄
Don’t be a Karen about this?

After the impeachment, it will be far easier to get rid of her, and quickly lock her out of Committees, until she’s removed altogether. Forget about the, “verdict.” Just keep demanding that the GOP’s top brass (the one’s who propagated the lie of, “The Steal,” which caused the Insurrection) are forced to Testify. And the GOP will be broken, for generations, if not for good. They cannot refuse to testify, nor can they hide behind the 5th Amendment. They will have to either give, “evidence,” for telling America their elections were, “stolen,” or admit they knew they were lying? Most will take the Nuremberg Defence; “I have no evidence for it, but Donny, my then president, said it was true and I believed him. I was only following orders.” And that’s at best! When America’s Nazis, Q followers, and trump cultists hear this, out of their own leader’s mouths, the GOP will fracture . . . So long as we, the people take this seriously, stay involved and active, and DEMAND Witness Testimony from our representatives ✌️👍

@williamolsen20 : Which is a tacit (perhaps planned and secretly arranged?) CONSPIRACY, right? I mean, WHO decided to CALL it, “defunding?” A term that literally implies the OPPOSITE of what it actually MEANS! Everyone, without exception would say, “I don’t want to take away funding from the police!” But, if you tell them, “Defunding means MORE police, better funded, better equipped but actually ONLY fighting crimes, preventing crimes and catching criminals, INSTEAD of body guarding corporate goons, playing at psychiatric nursing, social workers and being bailiffs for the banks, collecting debts and evicting homeowners,” they would have nothing to say, right? This is the DUMBEST, “political,” disagreement, since the He Who Smelt It Dealt Wars, of 1872!!! I just wanted to bang their heads together!
An egregious conspiracy, dependant upon the wilful ignorance of BOTH sides! Maybe they deserve what they get? But the population deserves grownups!

You didn’t think that through, ma’am. People don’t make loud, public allegations, like that, without knowing they have evidence to back it up. Each one of those individuals would have grounds to sue her, otherwise. Funny how they all got fired after Walmart’s investigation of the matter, though, right? And how she was offered her job back, but refused it? Don’t you think? You really should check these things out, and maybe just think for a minute, BEFORE dismissing such serious claims out of hand, with absolutely no reason to? . . . @brianloveless2717 : You we’re saying Texas is, “better than most.” Then you immediately compared it to other states when faced with undeniable flaws. How does Whaddabouting support your argument, one iota? Logically, YOU are now arguing that Texas is WORSE than other states, out of your own mouth! But, the Alt-Wrong in Texas never gets how it’s being played and ROYALLY SHAFTED by the very people they vote for, who really don’t give a flying f’k if YOU live or die, so long as they can count on your vote. And you do it, why, again? Because you think they, “take a stand.” . . . On WHAT? Giving you the right to play with your pop-gun and a say, “f’k you,” in the streets to any black guy or lesbian without being arrested? While they take all your money, your education, your health care, your right to protest, your right to VOTE against them and control over your very BODY, you think they’re, “taking a stand?” WAKE UP, SON! Has to be, right? And, I think the leaders of the, “left,” must be in on it? Why else did they come up with such a triggering, means-the-opposite-of-what-it-sounds-like, DUMB name for it? And why haven’t the liberal media changed that name or at least taken the time to EXPLAIN IT better? Wreaks of conspiracy! Literally EVERYBODY wants the same thing! If that politician had said, “Do you want to fight crime with a well funded, well equipped, well staffed Sheriff’s or police department? Or do you prefer being a social worker, psychiatric nurse, corporate goon’s bodyguard, and a debt collector for the banks, putting tearful, broke assed families out on the streets? Because, if you want the former, then you WANT DEFUNDING!”
But the best he could come up with in the moment was, “I accept funding, ahem . . . I mean, ‘endorsements,’ from anyone . . . Including the KKK and the Feck Your Momma To Death Party”??? I mean, NEITHER of them KNOWS what TF they’re TALKING ABOUT, or they wouldn’t BE disagreeing!!!
If that’s NOT a conspiracy to muddy the waters of a no brainer, mutually beneficial, obvious solution, then it’s literally THE DUMBEST, most cringeworthy, humiliating case of crossed wires since the My Favourite Color Is Better Than Yours Wars of 1852! Two opposing men, who actually agree but don’t know it, might as well have both stood up and said, “I have never looked up the meaning of the term I am angry about! So, uuughhhhhhh . . . WAAAAAHHH!!!” F’king DOLTS! 🤦♂️ . . . Hehhhhhhh . . . 🤷♂️ ✌️👍

Well, by vacating his criminal verdict, the justice department has upheld the binding agreement the prosecution made with Cosby. So the financial compensation he paid is, if anything, more secure than it was. Cosby’s not getting his money back. He is still a confessed rapist, to a legal standard. He confessed in the Civil suit. Not only has that not changed, but it is more strongly the case, because the judgement just made it so. They’re basically saying that the justice department made a deal, and they are bound to uphold that deal. Cosby was told, if he confessed and settled the civil suit, he would not be criminally prosecuted, so he did. The same, “lawyer,” who defended trump at his second impeachment, is the same guy who then broke the justice department’s word, and used his confession in the civil case to get a criminal conviction. It was argued, before it went to criminal trial, but the judge allowed it. Now that judge, as well as that corrupt lawyer, will have to account for their dodgy practices. A rapist is free, on a technicality. And the prosecution are the ones who set him free.

Only one night, if he was as rationalistic and Asperger’s effected as me. It’s when you hear people who sound rational and decent, repeating this bollox, that you feel like the Zombie Apocalypse is all but upon us, right? . . .

@jfh667 : Trump was not involved in the negotiations. Mike Pompeo followed trump’s orders to end the war however he could. He surrendered to the Taliban, released their leader from US custody (along with their top 5000 war dogs) and made an arrangement which Biden kept, on Biden’s terms. By locking out the Afghan government, trump’s administration guaranteed the collapse of their democracy, which was corrupt and rotten to the core anyway. But, not even involving them in those, “negotiations,” amounted to abject surrender and betrayal. Thus, the Afghan government followed trump’s example and betrayed their people, by either fleeing or surrendering themselves. Biden told his generals what was coming and no one had any illusions. He lied to the American public about the strength and will of the Afghani troops and government, so as to prevent panic, and not be the cause of more chaos. If he’d said what he truly expected, he would have made it worse, caused worse chaos and been, “blamed,” for that too. Given the hand he was dealt, he put Americans first, and pulled off a minor miracle, getting Americans out without any blood spilled. We can’t count the bombing, as that was as much an attack on the Taliban as it was on the US and the Afghan allies. It was an immense achievement, getting around the obstacles that trump deliberately left behind, in hopes of sabotaging a withdrawal; which worked on the assumption that Biden would see how, “boxed in,” he was, and kick the can down the road, as all previous administrations had. But, he did not count on Biden’s resolve, or his willingness to take heat for the sake of our troops. No one thought he would pull it off, which was why he was able to do it, before America’s enemies could martial their forces against us. It was quite brilliant, actually, and Joe deserves our gratitude and support. Those comparing this to Vietnam or claiming this was IN ANY WAY a, “failure,” are historically illiterate and have no clue how history or the military works.

This is the DUMBEST political disagreement since the, “What Did You Just Call My Mom?” Wars of 1753! Literally EVERYONE wants to defund the police! Including that Sheriff! They just don’t all know what, “Defund the police,” MEANS! Whoever came up with that name for it is the one who should be SHOT with, “qualified immunity!” Tell me WHO doesn’t want cops to prevent crime, detect crimes and catch bad guys with well funded, equipped and staffed police forces? WHO??? . . . And which cops, including Sheriff Buzzcut, wouldn’t prefer NOT to be a psychiatric nurse, social worker, corporate goon’s body guard, or debt collector for the bank??? We could be saving BILLIONS if they would just LOOK IT UP! FFS!? And the best this guy could answer with was, “I accept endorsements from anyone, including the KKK and the Feck Your Momma’ To Death Party”??? Jesus! Bang their stupid heads together, somebody!!!???

Be relieved that your upbringing was so much better than his? “There, but for the grace of God,” and all that? Consider how much happier you are, with people in your life who actually love you, trust in you, and whom you can count on? You have so much that he doesn’t, (including legitimate money, probably?) and you’re not as bitter, racist, criminally inclined, or lonely as he is. Be glad for what you have and celebrate it. Give your spouse a special thank you hug? ✌️

Lieutenant: “I’m honestly afraid to get out.”
Cop: “Yeah, you should be! Get out!”
What does a rational, law abiding citizen DO at that point? Call the cops? If that isn’t an impossible and deadly threat, what is? The cop literally told him he should be afraid to get out of the vehicle, whilst ordering him to get out of the vehicle in his very next breath! Just a street thug with a badge. Firing is not enough. What would have happened had it been the other way around, even if the cop was off duty? Those assaults and deadly verbal threats would have landed our lieutenant in the can by now, awaiting a lengthy sentence, and we all know it. Any cop fired for such a thing, should, at minimum, be barred from all police work, nationally. It’s not just about that individual, but about national confidence in law enforcement. ✌️

I read that book. And I despair. Here is a prime example. Two men, a politician and a senior cop, disagreeing over, “defunding the police.” Neither man knows what the term means, nor realises that they both want precisely the same thing. Either out of deliberate obtuseness, conspiracy, or sheer ignorance, they have not got a definition of the term to hand. Ask either one of them, “Would you prefer a well funded, well equipped, well staffed police force to solve crimes, prevent crimes and catch criminals? Or are you happy to see the expanded use of the police as psychiatric nurses, social workers, corporate goon body guards and bailiffs for the banks, collecting debts and turning poor people out of their homes?” They would BOTH give the same answer! They BOTH want, “defunding,” but . . . Do they? . . .
They’re either the dumbest people to be put in charge of anything, or corporate stooges, right? What other possibility is there? Even the name, “defunding,” sounds like the opposite of what it means, and was SO BOUND to trigger unthinking people, who never look sh*t up! Talk about ASKING to be misunderstood? Reform will have to come from the ground up, with better terms to define the debate. I’ve never, in all my years, seen such an obvious misunderstanding getting so much fuel from such egregiously idiotic, “leaders,” in such an obviously callous exploitation of ignorance.
It’s problem that America does NOT WANT to solve. Too much MONEY to be lost . . . And little honor to be found.

That’s kind of missing the point though. Everyone’s aware that the color of your skin changes your life opportunities and it changes the individual’s expectations of justice and equity. To analyse how that works, from cradle to the grave, is a noble endeavour, so long as it is done with earnest, honest integrity and intent. Once it is given a, “name,” it becomes a straw man, for people to attack, because they don’t understand it. And you can guarantee that anyone who is, “against CRT,” is speaking from a position of ignorance: 100% of the time. So, to get bogged down in its origin story, is as misguided as arguing over who started The Beer Hall Putsch on the beaches of Normandy on D Day.
No one is teaching it. It’s not on the curriculum. Academics argue that it should, “inform,” teaching methods, and is something that educators should know about when teaching; in the same way that people are taught to be aware of racism, sexism and oppression in general. It’s not a thesis. It’s not a formal discipline. It’s an idea about awareness. As ever, the GOP are mischaracterising something, for the sake of creating a shadow to box with. Because they dare not deal with ANY policy in a substantive manner. To do so could only lead to the revelation that they not only NEVER serve the public good, but that they are the CAUSE of the public’s harm.
So, with respect. Learn what it is and pay more attention to the content of the, “thing,” than when and where it manifested? I could tell you a lot about Copenhagen, Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein, but that wouldn’t tell you anything about Physics, or the Copenhagen Interpretation. See what I mean?

That’s a good point. It annoys me that they don’t fact check in real time. My instant response was, “If I forced you to answer the question, by torturing you or something, that would be a, ‘violation,’ of all kinds of rights, but you have the right not to answer. So, don’t make out that me asking you a question is some kind of, ‘violation,’ that it’s NOT? Be honest and say you don’t want to tell America that of course you got vaccinated, but don’t want to tell your base, because that doesn’t fit your bonkers narratives. No one’s violating your rights, Karen, you snowflake!”

She was willing to be real and honest about all of this, when others were too wrapped up in political biases to take a cold, hard, honest journalistic look at the truth. This story has done more to raise her in my esteem, than any other I can think of. And it’s not like I didn’t rate her highly already. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn of suicides because of this Time’s Up debacle? I hope not, but imagine if you had been looking to them for financial help, legal guidance and moral support, for your own serious assault or harassment case, and coping with all the Cuomo Collusion revelations, when you now learn that, rather than facing and dealing with these issues; owning them, reviewing practices and working to change things, the whole leadership just throws in the towel, after being outed as abetting Cuomo? A bunch of famous people, polishing their halos for the public, turned out to be either a part of the problem, or just playing at solving it, but left once the going got tough and they might have to put their own skin in the game. Any and all, “hope,” you had would be robbed from you, turning your worst fears into despair. God help those victims. Because Time’s Up sure ain’t going to . . .

This analysis was SO spot on, it’s impossible to add anything but the details. But, who wants to talk about Manchin enjoying his nights in the Lincoln Suit at the White House, his lobby donors ensuring he flies first class everywhere, and all that sweet sweet press attention he’s soaking up, knowing it will never happen again in his life, unless it’s for some crime he gets busted for? We just need to win more seats at the midterms, and make this fool irrelevant enough to declare himself actually in the GOP, so we can all say, “Yeah, we know. And we don’t care!” ✌️👍

While I get your point, would you prefer it if the DOJ was allowed to lie and break legally binding contracts? Because that’s what happened. Cosby signed a plea deal, which was, “Confess and settle in civil court, and we’ll drop the criminal prosecution.” That prosecutor broke his and the state’s word, and the law, by making a deal he didn’t have the right, or lawful authority, to make. That prosecutor should be on trial for doing that? The court has merely upheld the word of the department of justice. Cosby remains a confessed serial rapist, as the civil suit is unchanged. If anything, it is stronger now. But a rapist walks free among us, because the same lawyer who went on to defend trump at his last impeachment, made a corrupt promise and corruptly broke his word. I hope he gets disbarred.

I wouldn’t call it a, “rant,” personally. His style could be seen that way, if he was talking bollox? But he’s so right it hurts. He’s speaking from the battlefield, in clear, concise, unambiguous prose, to ensure he can get his message to you as efficiently and briefly as possible, without the possibility of being misinterpreted. Or, that’s how I like to think of him. A man with, “Service,” in his heart, proud of his military contribution, bold in his use of it, to legitimise himself against the conservative nay sayers, and committed to continuing in service, now for our benefit. I can’t help but love guys like him. So, if that’s what, “ranting,” is, I’m fine with being ranted at. ✌️

@CarynGibson-ey1xn : I’m with you on that. Raise their wages and raise the required qualifications to a commensurate level? It’s hard to hold on to the fact that bad cops are still a minority in most police forces. But, there is a bad culture that would be shot through by better training and higher recruitment vetting. Starting with a National database, that follows all cops wherever they go: compulsory camera (with sound) with penalties for cops who don’t wear them or turn them on, such as fines and disciplinary procedures for, “being out of uniform,” if not wearing a switched on camera, whilst on duty. And, how about no arrest can be accepted as lawful unless it’s videoed? So, no un-videoed case ever gets to court, and any cop who violates that, gets a reprimand? That sort of practice would put an end to police corruption and brutality, practically overnight! ✌️
1
-
@codyrussow170 : No. But my cop friends aren’t, “poor.” They’re not rich either, like me. Why do you ask? For good cops, we’re asking them to place themselves in harm’s way, at the drop of a hat, routinely, every single day. So, whatever it is, it’s not enough. The dedication, long hours, incredible stresses and personal sacrifice I’ve seen from police officers, frequently blows my mind. And it’s hard to put a monetary value on such things. But, good pay attracts the best people, if they have to have qualifications before they join up, befitting a high paid job. And we need smart, well educated cops to be the norm. We don’t just need integrity and heroism, but tact, judgement, calm under pressure and self discipline, of the type that academic qualifications demand. Law enforcement should NEVER be elected. A popularity contest hurts justice in my view. It should be a rigorously tested position, with review tests, to ensure people are maintaining high physical and mental fitness, with high, commensurate rewards.

-
@Rin-qj7zt : So glad that you’re getting where I’m coming from. If being educated was a condition of the job; the expectation, then the community would genuinely start looking up to cops. If they were meant to be the calm one in every situation and not, “the threat,” then people would WANT to help them. They wouldn’t be reluctant to tell them their details, because they wouldn’t feel like they were being trapped into something. That fundamental culture of the cop being the, “smartest person in the room,” and people having the expectation that s/he is going to be the one who resolves the conflict with the least drama, is what we should be training them for. We do them as much of a disservice as we do the public, by not offering cops high academic levels of in-house training; even elevating aspects of their job to degree and doctorate levels of academe. Training them into a culture of, “head stuff,” and to put a stigma on emotional policing is the way to go. When your colleagues are saying, “Ahh, no. You clearly got mad at that guy. That’s bad,” would be using peer pressure (the strongest force) against violent policing. Nearly all the videos I see, of police brutality, have the same three factors: the cop was not smart enough to use his words; the cop got angry; and the cop knew the culture he worked in expected him to have physical control over others at all times, and he felt like he was failing, just because his suspect wasn’t clicking his heels and snapping to attention when he issued a, “lawful,” command. I mean, even that language is a giveaway, right? “I’m issuing a lawful order!” Really? Could you maybe just start by asking the guy for his help and cooperation? Why are you his enemy walking in? Even if your arresting the guy, have the decency to show regret that it’s come to this? Most people would let you put on the cuffs and shrug! Sorry, I’m going on a bit now ✌️👍

@erichoppe8228 : You mean, “was,” a disaster, right? He’s not there now, nor will he be, ever again, so long as America remains a democracy. If he ever got back there, yes. That would be the disaster to end all disasters, as it would not only require the fall of America’s Republic, but it would probably spell the doom of all other democracies on Earth. That’s why everyone on the planet has a dog in this fight, and every right to contribute to the end of trump and trumpism. It’s Fascism, by another name, with every historic indicator.

A broken system, is how. An Electoral College that has been in need of reform or dissolving altogether for generations now. An anachronistic institution that was designed to protect the, “rights,” of slave owning states, still gets to collect up, “points,” for each state, instead of counting the votes. That’s how. We make a nonsense of the line, “one nation under God,” every time we deny our citizens the validity of their votes, by setting them aside in favor of a points system that clearly FAILS to represent the voters. If we made that ONE, SINGLE reform, for National Elections, and said, “One person, one vote, all counted equally, with every individual citizen having an equal stake, equal say, equal power, equal validity,” we would never see another GOP administration again! They would have to end the GOP and come up with a new Conservative party that is actually democratic and REPRESENTS people, like they have in other western democracies. That one reform could save America from this current threat and rise of fascism. As it is, you can have well over three MILLION more votes from the American people, and still be denied your democratic right to be counted equally. Why lawyers haven’t challenged the EC is beyond me?

Don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone get away with that in the name of, “Christianity,” before? Demonic. Signs and wonders. @YusufGinnah : Yeah, I noted two things in particular (just on the interaction) which were
1) Not one of those cops thinks of themselves as a, “servant,” public or otherwise, but the OPPOSITE: “Authority figures,” to be feared and respected. They were genuinely confused by the LAW, and embarrassed by the trench they’d dug themselves into.
2) The appearance of more cops, FAR from calming the situation, made it potentially EXPLOSIVE! Now, they’re like a frat crowd, all concerned about how macho they can be in front of their peers, and not being seen to back down. And, tiny Officer Tibet is the one with a killer’s eyes.
His big fat partner is just an angry, cowardly wife beater with a big mouth. Tibet is the one to shoot first, and dances on your corpse after, probably T-Bagging it. I could see it in his eyes. Murder lurks there. Look again, and you’ll see it. ✌️

Ultimately, this was a case of political corruption at the heart of a charity. Probably, most disturbingly, committed by people who didn’t even acknowledge their own hypocrisy corruption; telling themselves that what Cuomo, “stood for,” was what made him, “too big to fail,” so the truth didn’t matter?
Spare a thought for the victims of serious sexual assault and harassment, who are (or recently were) in the process of being supported by Time’s Up, when all this hypocrisy lead to the collapse of an already burning building? Imagine the despair of all those (mostly) women who were relying on them for legal and moral support? I would not be surprised to learn of suicides as a direct result of this?
Every time I see the name, “Johnny Depp,” mentioned on YouTube, I always write the same comment; “Depp was framed!” But, the good news is that Robert Downey Jr has insisted on having Depp in his third Sherlock Holmes movie, in a major role (probably the villain) and that he has huge support within the population; unlike Amber Herd, who’s star is already fading. The bad news is that it is more and more falling to the, “popular,” vote, for justice to get spread around a little more evenly. Because it seems that Injustice gets spread around, just as easily?
The people involved in Time’s Up deserve all that’s coming to them. But the people they were helping? What of them now? They trusted them, and will mostly be legit cases of people out on a limb, with few options left to them, as their main advocate has been discredited.
I hear you. I feel you. I just hope lessons will be learned? And that people who want change in the world, don’t start becoming like their cultish opponents, disregarding all news and narratives they don’t, “like,” in favor of ones they, “prefer,” until hypocrisy becomes less of a, “trap,” for people to fall into, due to racism, sexism, and all those other, “isms,” and more of a lifestyle choice?
There’s too much MONEY sitting around in Time’s Up’s bank account for them to just shut up shop overnight? But, whether that gets donated to worthier charities, or they try to fix their broken organisation, will be the next big story to watch for them. I just hope they take good care of the case load on their books? I hope they don’t desert the people who trusted in them for help and guidance, so easily as they did their moral responsibilities?

@xaero76 : Jesus, son??? Tell THAT to Terry Crews? . . . Sounds like you’ve listened to a lot of stories about them, and less of what they actually do, or did? I would agree that there has been too much, “overcorrection,” as Bill Burr puts it. But, I would take Bill Burr’s stance on the rest of it too. You need to calm down and take a look for yourself? Stop listening to all the, “stories,” you hear, and assess the world for what it is, not what Focks tells you to think it is? When due process gets tossed aside, like with the, “believe all women,” nonsense, we’d better push back, and hard! But, no one is telling you that it’s even all about men! Terry Crews, the same guy you cheered with his repeating shot gun, tearing through all the bad guys in Stallone’s Expendables movies, is also a victim of sexual assault! He has Me Too’d and addressed Congress on the topic! How does THAT fit the, “narrative,” son?

The tragedy is, for me, I can hear their entire conversation in my head, as they’re tailing her, getting more and more angry and frustrated, feeling each other’s macho instincts and saying what they’d like to, “do to,” the driver. Not one of them was trained to calm the situation that was already getting out of hand inside their own minds, and they just bounced off each other like an angry dad, criticising Sunday Drivers. No skills, no training, no abilities between them. Just attitudes, badges and guns. They’re not fit.

The guy thinks he’s the villain in an Indiana Jones movie, or something! What bothers me is that the DA has to let it go, or waste millions in tax payer dollars, trying to prove what a lying POS this guy is, and his, “lawyers,” even more so! When we will all know they were just lying assed thieves and smugglers, enriching themselves with the stolen birthright of a war torn, impoverished, peoples, who were made that way by the meddling of greedy fossil fuel barons who had a greedy fossil fuel baron in the White House, willing to meddle on their behalf and tear their country apart in an illegal war . . . “Just more of the fallout from generations of GOP Nation Building folks. Unless you subscribe to a cult, in which case that’s a daily occurrence and occupational hazard, to which most members are numbed? They find that it’s too exhausting, falling into the trap of hypocrisy, so instead, they simply embrace Hypocrisy, as a kind of Lifestyle Choice. Personally, I’m sparing a thought for the victims of sexual assault and harassment, who were relying on Time’s Up for legal assistance and moral support, when this sh*t went down. I just hope and pray that the suicide rates don’t spike, because of a few celebrities who let their political biases get the better of them, and cause them to disregard the facts, in favor of a narrative they preferred, costing them millions in donations and all of their credibility. The pain and despair for those victims is the most real thing I see in this . . .
