It all depends on where the sun is at in its 12 year cycle. At solar minimum the sun seem more uniform. At solar maximum (which most of his footage is of) its much more violent.
33
True, but he who cares more about his freedoms than mine, deserves none.
27
Assuming it exists elsewhere is an act of faith. We have no proof of it anywhere else, and it's only happened here once.
18
@ngud_gaming267 Old? The sun has only been around the milky way 20 times (20 galactic years old). Our sun can't even drink yet.
6
@farrglehorn8216 You're right! We have found evidence of none. We have been contacted by none. We are alone.
6
@sqengineer Water isn't rare. It's hydrogen and oxygen that easily bonds. If pressed for my opinion, it would be our abundance of life, but I think we are alone, soooo...
5
@kennyg1358 I wouldn't trust a new radar system. It's not like the public is going to be allowed to analyze that data anyway. As for the pilots? Who knows. It's not like we can talk to them, inspect them and their airplanes, or be able to recreate the event. The video is grainy. The pilots said it was a white object that appears black in the video. That should tell you something.

@rubikscubeearf6218 Imagine what your life would be like if brave men didn't demand choice from those who didn't want to give them choices. Feeling powerless is not a good look on you.
5
@miproduction6196 Nope, it's simple... Those who care more about their freedoms than yours, will eventually take yours to keep theirs. You have freedom because others sacrificed their lives for your freedoms. They did their duty.

Marc F. Nielssen I took geometry in 11th grade. It was a US high school and that was over 30 years ago. If memory serves my kids took geometry in 10th or 11th grade, again, in a US high school. Who knows, Sonia obviously doesn't know what she's talking about. 🤷

You are right, we are lucky to exist. You could look at it this way, all life here could have been wiped out multiple times and even on an extremely habitable planet such as ours, life shouldn't exist. Life has only started here once. My belief is that we are alone.
4
@JohnnyWednesday Why so hostile?
4
Sonia Joubert if you were living in South Africa and you're white, you aren't smart.
3
Absolutely do not agree. We can't make general assumptions on the existence of one independent example. We should not exist on our planet and it is very habitable. We (all life) have been pushed to the brink of extinction multiple times. Yes, it's a double edged sword, but you have only accounted for that in one way. Even factoring that every star has a planet is a false assumption. We are alone.
3
@rubikscubeearf6218 You do have a choice. Hire a private flight. Drive Walk Go back in time. Rally people behind your cause and change TSA procedures. The point behind serving the greater good is that people can't create change if they're a nobody who has never done anything for anyone other than themselves. You need to start somewhere or accept what life gives you.

Sonia Joubert According to the Bible, the weight of the world is carried on the "shoulders". As in a heavy globe. If it was a heavy disk, you would carry it in front of your body. Think about it Sonia. The Bible doesn't actually talk about or describe the Earth's shape. It does say "corners of the earth" ( not "edge") but that doesn't connotate "disk" or plate shape, does it? A more correct translation of the ancient words used would be "quarters of the earth" and that could be one fourths of any geometric shape, 2D or 3D. If you fail to respond, I'll assume you are simply another troll looking for a "reaction"... ...or, you have been murdered because you are a "Boer" in South Africa.
2
@keirfarnum6811 Yeah, you might be right, but there is no proof of that here, just like the video is not proof of ET life (my point). The object changes from black to white in the video, and that should be a problem unless you're claiming the "object" is changing temp, which should have been noteworthy (and it wasn't). There may be a valid reason for that color change, but I'm not going to "geek out" over a dead end. The video shows what it shows, which isn't much.
2
@aserta Don't forget that the earth's magnetic field is also down roughly a third.
2
You MUST kill to live. I highly doubt that this would be different in the history of another advanced civilization. Not that I agree in the first place, because I think we are alone.
2
@lucycassidy2709 Yes, it's a numbers game, but for some reason, you're ignoring those numbers or simply making them up.
2
Why is it terrifying? You are here, take joy in that. The alternative, you not existing is still not terrifying. You can't miss what has never existed. Seize the day....
2
@lukefabis2552 "Perhaps" That word was important...
2
@aprildawnsunshine4326 I agree with what you posted, but I would add that we don't agree on where the ballance should be, and we never will. That makes us distrust each other, and I think it snowballs from there. We have different values.
2
@rubikscubeearf6218 So, do you really think your hands are tied and resistance isn't an option? Life is full of choices. It's just that some choices we can't undo, and we need to assess if the consequences are worth our actions to change our surroundings. I suggest you volunteer your time for a cause bigger than you. You'll see your actions do make a difference. Join a church organization. Sign up for relief work through the red cross. Join a volunteer fire department. Volunteer at a local shelter/hospital. Run for political office. Show your opinion has value and others will listen.

Francois Rautenbach I'll take your point when farming in the USA becomes more dangerous the being a police officer. That is what is happening in SA. It was not meant to be a joke!
1
...or until we can predict or duplicate what happened. At this primitive point we are wildly guessing...
1
It's not real because nature hates to waste energy. The face hugger stage is a needless step in the development of the alien.
1
The speed of light, to me, would have been a better unit of measure.
1
@Toekneepowers you need to look at how the moon was formed...
1
This is a little late. We had a glancing blow form a near X class flair the other day.
1
Or government has a history of deceiving the public, what's to say they aren't doing it here. Past presidents have told us that there are things we are not being told. These statements are vague. While that's true, it does establish a pattern of behavior that should make the average person question what they are being told. I don't believe in ET life, but I don't trust the government to make that decision for me either.
1
@JohnnyWednesday IKR We kill, steal, and separate ourselves from our own kind. Just look at the Jerry Springer show. We crave conflict. Why would an intelligent being insert themselves into that?
1
Without Jupiter, Thea would have never hit earth and created our moon.
1
@besticudcumupwith202 We've been actively observing for better than 40 years.... ...aaaaaaand nothing. Believing in the existence, in the absence of proof is faith. "Yet" indicates that you have faith we will find proof. You can believe any fairy tales you want.
1
@dynamicworlds1 What probabilities? There should be life everywhere after a few billion years thay have had to advance and travel. You have one example of a habitable planet, Earth. That's it. You may want to extrapolate that, but it has only happened here once.
1
@ShadowLegend300 What do you call the deafening silence and absence?
1
@kirkbennett3927 Ooooohhhhhhh, cryptic... We have seen billions and billions of years of past, and yet, nothing is there.
1
@dynamicworlds1 Oh, I have researched it, it's strange that you would assume I haven't. Yellow dwarf (10% of stars) Size of star Age of the star Activity level of the star Circular orbit of the Planet Habitable zone Planet size Planet composition Planet atmosphere Planet distance from star Stable orbit Stable revolution Revolution speed Not tidally locked (most are) Forces to keep the planet geologically active The absence of massive comets and asteroids for a long enough period Tides (moon) Volcanic activity Plus, a million other factors.... "literally infinite" No, it's actually quantifiable. Earth is extremely habitable, and it's only happened here once in billions and billions and billions of years. Not only that, but we've been all but exterminated MULTIPLE times.
1
@dynamicworlds1 "Vastly underestimating" That's how I see you.
1
@themrdoggo There isn't, or you would have named the planet that is an exact copy. Enjoy the fantasy.
1
Let me stop all of you for a moment. If you don't have proof of life to support your position, you have no position, because you have no life (ironic).
1
@dynamicworlds1 If my quoting you is an ad hominem, then it is you who did it. ....sigh...
1
@dynamicworlds1 There is a million variables in the formation of our LUCA. You mean to tell me you have accounted for all of them? No. "...if you'd done any research..." Unless you know my background, that was an ad hominem. ...sigh...
1
@dbypro As if I care what your opinion is?
1
@dynamicworlds1 You need a yellow dwarf that is the right size, age, and has the right activity level. Did you bother to rule out the parent star as a factor? I'm willing to bet you haven't.
1
@dynamicworlds1 Where did I claim to need your validation? Believe fairy tales if you want. Why would I care...
1
@dynamicworlds1 Most stars are the wrong type. Wrong age. Wrong activity level. The possible planets need a strong magnetic field (iron/nickel core that is kept geologically activeby by an object such as a moon of the right size and distance) to prevent bombardment of energized particles from the parent star. Most planets are tidally locked. Most planets are too large. Most planets have elliptical orbits. We need a planet with a similar density of 5.514 grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm3). You keep up with the math and I'll keep giving you factors to lower the possibilities. That's essentially what you're asking for. It should be super easy with all of your research.
1
@dbypro Good for you!
1
@dynamicworlds1 Don't backslide now! We need the actual numbers from your research. What values have you assigned to my variables? We are going to tackle this!
1
Yellow dwarf stars are 1 in 10. Then we need your numbers to pare down those remaining stars by activity level and size.
