  7. Valerie Folse ...and if you had watch the half-hour video of this incident you would have seen that he did call for backup but only wanted one additional officer. He then went to each additional car that showed up and said "sorry, I only wanted one car". It's okay that you jump the gun Valerie, It's only human nature. Just try to do better next time, okay?

  8. Valerie Folse the police gave this man lawful orders. He didn't comply with lawful orders. Could the police have handled it in a better way? Yes absolutely. Does that negate the fact that this man didn't follow lawful orders? No. I would say, to be more exact, two idiots collided that night.

If he was "a compliant man" he would have removed his hands as he was instructed to (lawful orders). Instead, he said no! Do you understand why police don't want your hands in your pockets while they talk to you?

  10. Valerie Folse I did say a few posts in that two idiots collided that night. Most people choose not to find middle ground on topics like this. To find it we need to look at both sides/actions. We give police officers special powers and authority because they must have it to be at all efficient or effective and survive the job. They are human, so some are good and some are bad, most ride the middle just like us. Most of the time police deal with the bad parts of society and like soldiers, it has an affect like hyper aggressiveness. We need to "play to the room" so to speak, when dealing with them because they are given authority over us. Best advice I can give is to comply with lawful orders and afterwards complain, file complaint, hire an attorney or sue the pants off of them. Make no mistake, on the street, were not equals to them. It would have been better if Brown had been polite or said nothing (other than to identify himself) and stayed (or moved when instructed to) at lest an arms distance when he found himself faced with "hair trigger" cops. Defensiveness and aggressiveness can be a very fine line to those who don't know us.

  16. Just remember, when the police are gone, the gloves come off and the trouble makers and the dregs of society are the first to go. It's like the old saying... "Doors are there to keep honest people out." or in this case Police keep honest people from permanently solving our own problems with the dregs. Society would fall apart but not dealing with my crack head sister and her drunk of a husband would be a plus. No more waiting for the law to catch up with them and actually do something. Sometimes the police are not hard enough on criminals...

  17.  @kylealexander7024  I don't think you understand what will happen if you defund the police. In the end it doesn't matter, it's not going to happen anyway. It's not a like flipping a switch and boom, the police are defunded. Every city, county, state, and the federal government would need to agree it, and that is not going to happen. The masses want law and order (at least the feeling of it). If your politicians take that away they dont stand a chance of getting reelected. The police are not going away. The police unions are not going away as long as we have politicians selling out to the special interest groups (unions) to get their votes. So the bad cops remain. Let's say you could get the union to let the bad cops go... Ok, we still have the "fog of war" and mistakes will still be made unless you hamstring the police. Police are not going to do the job if you take away their ability to defend themselves. No one would want the job because cops will be killed in droves. To prevent the next Tamir Rice incident (I hope you're familiar with the case because if you're not this will not make any sense) police must wait to react to keep their jobs, and delay the application of deadly force. If police can't react instantly to what seems to be a deadly weapon then they die from waiting to be sure it is a real weapon when it actually is a real weapon. If they react they're fired, if they don't react they die. That's a hell of a choice. The world sucks and I wish it didn't. Violence is the tool of criminals so police need to be able to stop it in action and that also sometimes means using deadly but justified force without being able to ask questions first. Don't get me wrong, what happened to George Floyd should have never happened and the police officer who knelt on his neck should never be a free man, but what if we treat him (the cop) like your sister was. Maybe he has PTSD or some other poor excuse for poor life choices. It'll be his defense you just watch. He'll say "I have a recognized medical condition and I couldn't stop myself." The dregs of society...

It is the judges courtroom and he can interrupt ANYONE at any time. Technically he should declare a mistrial, but here we are... All in all, he is very forgiving.
