@SpuddMacgyver It was a CGI "Dances with Wolves" and we know how a second Dances with Wolves would have gone. The government would have come on with a massive and overwhelming force after decimating the natural resources the natives would have needed to survive. All that is needed is to proverbially poison the well of the natives and clean up the survivors. That's what Avatar 2 would/should be with Avatar 3 being isolated acts of revenge aimed at the organizers of their slaughter. After all, the government could watch them from space (as we are capable of now) then simply drop ordinance on the natives as they expose themselves. For me, it's either that or Cameron looses credibility.

As I sit here and realize how often you are right on movies I find myself thinking, "Do I need to drink more?".

"landmark film"? Well, eeeehhhhhhhhh, no. It's really not. I'm not sure why you would even say what you did. You didn't make a counter argument to any of his points. You called him a drunk and used that to disregard everything he said. Am I right? Did you think the writers treatment and direction for the character of Thor (is this film) was a logical progression? Or Was Thor's storyline another attempt to change the characters that we have grown up with? In order to perpetuate the new agenda of "white man bad" and usher in a new line of strong but female (and somewhat diverse) characters to replace male ones. This male character was poorly written into a degrading (lazy writing) and illogical character arc. One last thought, shouldn't the present queen of Asgard have been the ruler? Was that character too old or was she ruled out because she had taking a submissive role (in today's world) to the past king (a male of all things)? You see? It's the little things that make this film definitively not a "landmark film".

Life is about change. Good for you on initiating that change! You're taking control of your cold, black heart, and that can't be easy.

Thank you for pointing out that the poison was the key to the future's survival, but when that didn't work, they just blew the ship up. Seemed like the logical place to have started to me. ...but that is probably where a sequel will find it's opening. I also hated when the first alien showed up, they couldn't kill it with thousands of rounds, but later in the movie they could kill them with a small burst because the plot needed it. Like when he was hanging from the rope of the helicopter.

@theelephantintheroom69 Landmark: an event, discovery, or change marking an important stage or turning point in something. What was the turning point, money? Please. P.S. Those writers are NOT the creators. Too many questions this time? If so, you can disregard the last one. I understand that you must like to keep conversations, simple...

I never thought of the movie Avatar as anything more than a kid's movie.

It didn't even attempt it. It validated poor mental health issues in men.
