The ultra rich will just move, hide, or invest their money where it can't be touched. Also, just what makes you think that the money will end up back in the US economy instead of another country? That money will enable some people to take vacations, buy foreign made goods, some people will send the money back to their country of origin, some people will spend the money on drugs, there are many other ways but all this will send money (trillions) to other countries. It is a global economy... Do you mind if I ask your age (a range is good too)?

Do you recognize that you are "handicapped" by your age and lack of experience? Yes, other countries have similar taxes but not all other countries. Just look at the items that you are in direct contact with right now.. How much did you or your parents spend on those items? Where did the products from your last meal come from? Now, how many of those items manufactured outside of the US are from countries with similar taxes? I am willing to bet practically none... When the money leaves it doesn't all come back. It is a slow bleed. Eventually you will run out of money. I am glad that you recognize that the UBI has it's inherit limitations. Doesn't it seem slightly reckless to implement a plan that will radically change our way of life and not address the major (my choice of words) drawbacks? Also, you recognize that some will abuse the UBI. Do you think that the number of those people will shrink or grow when you are handing out money with no questions asked? You would be surprised by what little people can comfortably live on. Free food Free housing Free phone Public transportation $500 a week, tax free (the average person doesn't live alone) Why work when it can be handed to you?
