Marxists changed the narrative, as they always do, so kids indoctrinated in public schools that are my children and grandchildrens' age get treated to the revised, divisive Marxist version. Btw, Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, so yes, the GOP was responsible for being anti-slavery, and also pro-civil rights in the 1960's. The Democrats were not! I was a teenager then and I remember how racist the Democrats were (and still are, more so than GOP.)
