  11. There is no personal property tax in FL, and the homestead property tax is different for different people due to their individual, respective, deductions. But as for residential rental property taxed in FL, it's allowed to go up 10% per year! Now who fo you think really pays that tax? The renters, of course!

FL, the only tax increase came from the scam voters approved in my Democrat-run city, the Childrens' ServicesFund, which provides ridiculously high salaries to its director and admin. staff and no services not being provided elsewhere in government.

  26. Congratulations! I remember when I had a 10.5% 15 year mortgage taken out in 1989, and it was such a burden to pay, and depressingly slow to pay down the gigantic interest and principal! But after 8 or 9 years, it was exciting to see how each additional payment made began really whittling down the balance. After 10 years, paid the remainder off in a lump sum. (Downside of that was the fact that most of the interest had already been paid by then. But still a good decision to do!😊)

  45. I'm in Leon County, and my taxes have never gone up morethan 3% per year, and they actually went down for a couple of years during the real estate crash of a decade ago. But several counties, all in S FL, are corrupt and raise millage to the max. each year, unfortunately.

  49. Voting to have no reserves is nuts! New HOA condo law makes obvious sense. People can be outraged all they want, but bills have to be paid, and I know of some HOAs who let deadbeats off the hook, making the responsible owners pick up the slack, when an unpaid assessment is needed. (So unfair.) Condo living is like living in a Marxist country.
