  1. There is no personal property tax in FL, and the homestead property tax is different for different people due to their individual, respective, deductions. But as for residential rental property taxed in FL, it's allowed to go up 10% per year! Now who fo you think really pays that tax? The renters, of course!

  4. I've lived in FL in the same house for 34 years. It's on 2 city lots, though only one lot is allowed for the 50/25K homestead property tax exemption. Taxes rise a LITTLE every year. Last year, mine came to less than 4K. They cannot rise more than 3% per year, max., due to Save Our Homes Amendment.

  5. I dunno, but heard on radio that Citizen's flood insurance premium will(again) soon be skyrocketing. An increase of times 3 or 4. Ridiculous!

  6. Most power lines in FL aren't buried due to the extra expense and sometimes because there's nothing underneath but shallow land. (Water.)

  7. No sales taxes in FL on baby and toddler items and none on food, unless from a restaurant. The remainder is taxed at 7%, with some cities adding a half percent city sales tax.
