  1. We don't all pay high property taxes. I'm in N. FL and my homesteaded house, which is on 2 city lots, only one of which can be homesteaded, was still less than 4K last year. THE ONLY TIME FL PROPERTY TAXES JUMP MORE THAN 3% per year ON HOMESTEADED PROPERTY is ONCE per owner, the January AFTER you purchase it, because that's the only time it will be RE-ASSESSED. That said, I've been in my house 35 years now! (Lots of years for my taxes to only go up a maximum of 3%.)
