  1. No, the STATE property tax assessment cannot go up more than 3% per year, Michael. The big increase is your county/city big-spending commissioners and mayors (Democrats, of course) who are allowed to raise your LOCAL taxes for ridiculous add-ons. You need to change this locally.

  3.  @TheJAXguy Well, DeSantis has a bill in the FL legislature now to limit the max. terms of city commissioners to 2 four year terms, which should go a long way (if it passes) towards ending the fiefdoms of these Marxist big spenders in all of the counties and cities, who keep getting re-elected each yearfor decades. I wish it covered mayors, too. BTW, I love Pensacola! Lived there many years ago, also on Pensacola bay.❤

  7. I'm in Leon County, and my taxes have never gone up morethan 3% per year, and they actually went down for a couple of years during the real estate crash of a decade ago. But several counties, all in S FL, are corrupt and raise millage to the max. each year, unfortunately.

  9.  @clyde19788 Not really. I'm in N FL, and Geico charges me less than $700 annually for car insurance, though I got rid of Collision and Comp. Don't believe the income levels needed to live here, either. I'm a retiree living on about 40-45K and doing OK here in FL.

  10. Not as long as DeSantis is governor! But Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Palm Beach County are notoriously corrupt and overtaxed by their spendthrift local governments. Been this way forever!
