@robertbrost7777 I'm leaving my house to my 3 kids, and I'm pretty sure they'll sell it and split the proceeds 3 ways. Giving them a nice down payment for their own homes. Or whatever...

@JMarquise94 Well, why don't you start your own business, if you're so smart and well-qualified, then?!

That's great! But he is being productive and not living with you like a leech. You and he are lucky!

My kids, all born in the 1980's, never asked to live at home after they went off to college, around age 18! (And neither did I, at their age!) They are all married with jobs and families, except that the youngest lives with his longtime g.f. and (thankfully) has no kids yet. Two live in ridiculously high-priced cities, Portland OR and Los Angeles, and I hope that soonr or later they'll figure out that they'll never be able to afford to buy houses there and move to somewhere with a better quality of life.

Not true. My son and his g.f. can afford to pay rent on their modest rental, while they work and attend college. Here in N. FL.

Michael, the banks have always, for last several years, insured personal bank accounts for $250K per depositor, unless you have listed qualified beneficiaries on record, each of which qualifies youfor an additional $250K in FDIC insurance. Several years ago, it used to be only $100K instead of 250K! I believe the limit is 5 or 6 beneficiaries for personal bank account.
