  1. It cannot be understated how much investment the branches of the US military make into training personelle and maintenance. The Russo-Ukraine war is a clear indication when a military neglects training and maintenance: it loses any tactical or material advantage it had on paper to engage peer state and lower threats. Russia went from being the second best military in the world to reverting to atrocious military doctrines from the previous century. Long gone is the capacity for fast attacks, precision munitions or multilayered attacks that can quickly seize the advantage and now it results in worsening an ever increasing humanitarian crisis. The dividends for American in having well trained military personelle is what they can accomplish when theily eventually leave the military. However many veterans suffer from the long term injuries sustained by the ridiculous level of training and bodily stress they undergo. The irony that the US military is so effective but operates on socialist principles never ends for me. Soldiers have access to medical care, universal housing, education, and nutritional support, and reforms are making mental Healthcare support an evolving improvement. It's amazing what young people can do with a robust social safety net underneath them.
