If China had continue policies of the mid 2000s and abided by autonomy rules for Hong Kong et all the they could have outgrown the US. Instead Xi has made Chinese policy to focus on himself over the nation. Institutional corruption remains a problem.

  3. ​Single role aerial superiority is dead. Missiles are so accurate at such long distances and travel so much faster than planes that advanced sensor packages and stealth are the most important tool for attack and defense. Add in the factor of drone wingman and decoy missiles that spoof radar returns of anything, its much more muddled. I honestly expect 6th Gen planes to be more medium range platforms to allow for greater combat range as well greater loiter time for local Command and control as well as more weapons load out. So pretty much a fixed wing stealth Aardvark.
