  1. So the first 15uears of a new weapon system is going to have extensive teething issues with the design that will need to go through multiple iterations of design refinement. People should note this when discussing all new weapon systems: its not "finished" until its had a decade or more of use, abuse, and updates. It's what happened with the m16, it's what's happened with the SCAR, and it's what's going to happen wit the M5. I do like designers considering different materials for casings though, it bad brass is recyclable while plastics aren't.
