So Ethically i agree with the DA that cops shouldn't be able to lie to suspects if the suspect can be charged for lying to police. this is especially true with federal agents. I'm sorry but it just seems completely unfair. I also think a public defender should sit just outside police interrogation rooms so whenever a suspect is interviewed they have some kind of advocate to remind them to shut up.
