Doctors should already qualify under a points based system, so that's not the problem.

@jimmcintosh2745 doctors already qualify under points based system, as do nurses and other medical professionals, so everything you mentioned has nothing to do with immigration. It's just to do with general shortage of doctors worldwide, also with pound being weak thus making our salaries uncompetitive. We need to automate as much as possible, and train more people.

@jimmcintosh2745 yes, but as I said above, doctors shortage is not because of our immigration system. See my previous comment above. We have to train them and that's that. If we start now, we'll have them in 8 years. If we start in 2 years, then we'll have them in 10 years and so on. We need to strengthen our economy, currency, balance of trade, this will attract more doctors from abroad. Relaxing immigration system will only help attract low-paid labour. Everyone above 32K has no immigration limits
