  1. Benefit fraud is not the same as tax fraud though. Taxes are taken from earnings, while benefits are given for nothing. It's right that benefits are enforced very strictly. Of course, it would be nice to one day enforce taxes as well, preferably by fully automating its collection (maybe possible in post-cash fully connected world), but with such a complex system, you need to give some leeway due to complexity
