  1. Thatcher dismantled manufacturing, but have service economy in return. Conservative donors made money on manufacturing dismantling. But the new conservative donors need to make money somewhere, so Johnson is now dismantling banking services to benefit his conservative donors. Unfortunately there will be not much left after that, so I guess they will need to build something first before dismantling it. Or maybe they will let Labour in for 2-3 rounds to build something?

  6.  @markwelch3564  I have no training in PR, I can only say that UK financial services is one of the very few competitive industries that UK has at the world market. Without it UK is no better than Greece or Ireland, but with a Royal family. It attracts the best talent from all over the world, bringing the best education to the country for free. And should I talk about the taxes? It's the UK golden goose. You either feed it and get your golden eggs, or you kill it and go destitute.
