St. Petersburg blows away all west coast USA cities....It gets beat by Chicago and NY and barely in Chicago's case. London is on par as well. You are in one of the greatest cities in the world.   36. I love it so much when you speak Russian and sub title it! My grandmother TRIED teaching me this when I was a kid and I could not understand. She taught me the alphabet but I couldn't write it. Just read it. She taught me key words but I was so young. I took Spanish as my elective. I made that decision more or less flipping a coin. If I had singed up for Russian that year it would have been the 5th signature they needed to keep the program. Unfortunately there was no Russian that year unless you stayed after for the Russian club. Oh and all the people in the peanut gallery here, take note. The US had RUSSIAN CLUBS in the 80s and 90s in Junior High School and High School (6th-12th grades). And they weren't communist spy programs.

The popular vote as it's called, what you would call the people's choice or vote represents 1/9 votes for the POTUS. The other 8/9 are votes through and from the Electoral College. While I am at it, the USA does not have a 2 party system. We have many parties. You can even write your own name in on the bottom of each vote on your ballot if you want. Or anyone else's name for that matter. Thought you should know this.

The worst they would do is block incoming traffic from countries they deem "unfriendly" which means it'll be the Turks against the Russians in every match. Besides, the game is a blueprint on how to work, tactically, in a group during a combat situation. My guess is it is valuable to Russia in that aspect.

My great grandmother and grandmother had to leave Russia and change their names 2 times each before they felt they were safe from being killed by the Bolsheviks or the Communist Party. As they were in fact hunting all the supporters of the Romanovs down and killing them. Most of them being loosely related family. So if you had 1/10th of that bloodline in you and any one knew it, you could be killed. Whether you supported communism or not. Stalin saw to this. They hated it here. My great grandmother died speaking ill of this place. My grandmother never got used to it. They both died out of time and place. It's why I always wanted to return there for a while and meet the relatives I have there that were able to make it. So few, but they did. I never got to Russia proper but I did get as far as the inner iron curtain before it was taken down. Poland, Belarus, Ukraine. All the border areas and slav cities that were then communist. It was interesting. But it wasn't like going back to St. Petersburg.

  83. My great grandmother and my grandmother were from Russia. They had lived there as long as they could remember. They left after my great grandfather was killed defending the Czar. My great-grandmother thought they would come for the rest of the families that backed the Czar and they of course did. My Great Grandmother died while I was young but had such a think accent I could never understand her. My grandmother was a very very good person. Church twice a week and volunteered at a local thrift shop that benefitted the church. A very good Russian living as an immigrant in America. Most of that side of my family lives in the St. Petersburgh region now and for a while. My grandmother used to write to them. They would write her back. I could barely understand a word but when I was about 5 she taught me the Russian alphabet. I used to sit and try to piece words together to read the letters. It amused her as I barely got a thing correct but I wouldn't stop trying.

Like the word Alpha, what "class" country you live in (First world, second world, third world), and so on. In other words we are all proving them right, that we are sheep and can be controlled, when we roll with their ideas, mannerisms and speech. I believe that knowing things like this is the basis for being "woke" or "aware". And those buzz words are as useless as tits on a snake due to the fact that the words themselves have been tampered with and people constantly use them incorrectly for their political campaigns and sales campaigns but guess what? That's why they changed their meanings to begin with. So you think you know the "real" meaning. The friends whose parents chose for them lead miserable lives, but the friends whose parents were wise enough for them to decide themselves when the time came, were well adjusted and fit their gender like any cis-gender. My truth is that before I knew them I just thought it was all wrong. After meeting them in my late teens, I realized that it is not a choice 90% of the time. They were literally born like that. People making fun of them and trying to stifle them will not change anything. It is natural. And should be addressed as such. This is a topic that has been taboo due to the sexual nature of it that should be part of the education system in EVERY country. Intersex people are born in every county. Not just Russia.

So many people do not understand how the US political system works, especially it's residents. At this point in time elections are a money laundering scheme to help the rich once every 4 years which I find insidious. I would rather go back to the way it was when two people ran, the winner was the President and the loser the Vice President. This way someone from both parties is always in office. I feel that in this respect they would be able to get more done through cooperation that does not exist when you have two of the same in the office and the rest of the system is the opposite party, making sure nothing useful gets done.

The voting the citizens do is called the "Popular vote" and represents 1/10th of the overall voting. The electoral college handles the rest. So, much like Russia, we do not elect out President. Our president is elected for us. On a side note, if you ever wondered why we have never had a female president, you need to ask the Electoral College. They make that decision. Not the citizens. Same thing with the wars and the aid the government gives to other countries. It is heavily influenced by other governmental bodies more aligned with the MIC than the citizens as that is priority 1 and citizens are priority 2. This is why we need an end to war, but so long as there are people that will rise up and physically try to take over, we will need a military that comes first. I feel that we in the US should have mandatory military training like they do in Russia.

If you are running low on resources and people and decide to attack a country to pit your best against your perceived enemies power with the stakes being all or nothing? In the end, however, his lack of sight robbed the country of it's power and influence since his first doomed invasion. And he has been seen as nothing but a pariah to the rest of the world since. In this day and age you do not need to attack a country to acquire it's resources. You just need to pay them the most. This becomes an issue for Russia when it's money is spread all over the place and it's currency is worth so little. McCain once said Russia was a gas station masquerading as a country.   461. Over a million people fled Russia due to the war or fallout from it. Most of them being military draft age men, so there would be a shortage in labor. It's also come to my attention that Putin thinks he can localize everything. Which isn't impossible but will take a long time to do. If Russia and China got together and did this together, you'd have something. However, even China won't get involved per se until that war is resolved and best I can tell, Putin & Co. have no intentions of going to the peace talk tables unless they get what they want. Ukraine feels the same way but doesn't have enough people. They can have the best equipment in the world, they will still lose when they run out of people. They were, after all, the breadbasket of the Soviet Union. Knowing all this I am sure the Russian military will wait them out and then take over the entire country at this point. And that is the reason there are no peace talks. It's obvious who has the upper hand in man power. The issue with that is the Ukrainians are fighting for their home. They're not looking to loot and raid and take over. They have no choice but to go on to the very last man. Russia wants to loot, raid and take over. The only way Ukraine could pull this off is for Putin to be assassinated. Even if Ukraine gets enough equipment to bring it to Moscow themselves, it would lead to nuclear war. This is a no win scenario for Ukraine. No matter what they get and what they do, they will eventually run out of people. It's plain fact. They can't attack Russia for fear of nuclear retaliation and they can't keep the Russian military off the border indefinitely. I am afraid there is absolutely nothing they can do but lose. Pretty sure the Military Industrial Complex of Russia figured this out long before they invaded.

  498. My grandmother was born in Russia. Her older brother and father (My great uncle and great grandfather) died fighting for Czar Nicholas II. When the Bolsheviks won it necessitated families loyal to the Emperor (Czar) to leave Russia or face harsh punishment and or death. They were penniless due to the economy and what the Bolsheviks took when they came to power and they were wanted even though they were a mother and sister. Not actual combatants themselves. So I get why you left, Roman. It's been happening for hundreds of years. There is a time of prosperity and peace followed by a time of war and famine and it was a vicious cycle in Russia up until Putin. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. And here we are. Russia has a dictator calling the shots again and people are running for their lives again. My Great Grandmother and my Grandmother came here ~100 years ago to escape what you just escaped. War, poverty and famine. Let alone basic human rights. This is Russia's actual issue. You do not need a strong hand or a weak one. You need a consistent government. If the Soviets had been left there you'd be in a better place than where you are now. If Putin hadn't turned dictator, you'd be in a better place than you are now. If the Czar was still installed you'd have a better country overall than you do right now. The problem hasn't been with the people or the times. It's with the turn over of government after government over short periods of time that is damaging and has been damaging Russia. If Russia is to survive it needs a new and fair government, economic system and serious upgrades to both infrastructure and commercial industry. Oh and that isn't my opinion I just typed. It was my Great Grandmother's opinion from the 1970s. See, in her 90 year life span she saw all that and as a Russian native wishing she could live at home back in the "Good 'ol days", this is how she felt. Elon Musk having some proprietary and mostly useless role is next to hilarious. I think it is ridiculous he named the dept. D.O.G.E. to boot. The other 9/10th of the vote belongs to the Electoral College and they would never let that happen. The only thing the citizens do here is have a "popular vote". That's it. 1/10th of the vote. That's it. 400 Million people get 1/10th of the vote. Which means we don't vote at all and all the damage being done by drawing lines is symptomatic of ignorance of the way our government works. Which is how they get you. The only way through is in. You have to go in but those that do never come out the same. See how that works? No, a new, single world government is needed. I am pretty sure this is what got JFK killed. I do believe he was planning on explaining this to the people. Also, on a local government front, the elected officials in the US do not hold the sway that the internally elected leaders do. Not even close. All elected officials can be shut down by people that own that section of that town, county, village or state. In order to get actual justice you often have to have your case moved to another jurisdiction that is not in league with the people that own the one you live in. And in other cases it is impossible without serious awareness. Awareness in the 10s of millions of people is a minimum.

But then they got rid of ports and installed needing more storage and also storage that was removable and without extra accessories, this was impossible. The ios kept getting more and more locked down into 2018 when I finally went Note 9 and stopped looking at Apple. Apple is too strict and what they did to Epic games and my man Tim Sweeney was disgusting. They still haven't sorted that. The ports on those older iPhone was SLOW as molasses compared to USB C as well. Apple only went USB C when the EU recently forced them. Their privacy policy is trash. They'll unlock an iPhone for the feds but not for a bona-fide user that lost his password. I have a newer iPad that is useless due to this. They won't help. I have one of my old iPhones in the same position. They will not help me. No, ill stick with Android until someone fixes the telecom industry with holographic projection or we get quantum transporters and won't need phones anymore.
