When I first joined Discord, it was for Apex Legends and Fortnite. Prior to that I knew it existed, I had an account and used it for support servers but didn't really use it use it. I lost that account and made a new one at that point. However, I KNOW I heard a disembodied voice saying "Discord: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." when I signed up. The voice had an eerily familiar, almost Oxford English sound to it...

They do not have to. Steam comes with an ability to be a walled garden so there is no reason to. The worst they would do is block incoming traffic from countries they deem "unfriendly" which means it'll be the Turks against the Russians in every match. Besides, the game is a blueprint on how to work, tactically, in a group during a combat situation. My guess is it is valuable to Russia in that aspect.

Discord has so many backdoors it's ridiculous. If Russian soldiers were using it to communicate with loved ones back home, it would only make sense to force them to use a more secure platform that could be monitored by the Russian state, which Discord could not be. Now I understand why this happened. Thank you Roman, I never would have put this together without you.

@rdsyafriyar Ah, and this finishes the explanation. Did the Soviets think people that played games were "gay" as in happy and carefree, so they felt it fit the paradigm and therefore the word? Or did they figure anyone playing video games would grow up to be homosexual? I am confused on this point. Can anyone explain?

@nevergiveup5939 You get rended. The useful energy returns to the singularity it was spawned from and the tainted, used or transformed energy, if you will, remains on the planet. When the planet is destroyed by the Sun going Nova or Super Nova, it will spread all of this throughout the solar system and seed life on planets that will be close enough to a star to support it. That's the short answer.

American corporations are soulless entities with the legal rights of a living breathing person in a court of law. Their one and only sole purpose is to make money for the shareholders or owners. They have no other function. Russian corporations are the same. There is no real difference in how to apply or maintain these. It is ironic that way. All of the PR and Marketing would have you believe they care, and they do care, about money. Apple in Russia is doing what the government is asking it to do based on the agreements it signed in order to operate in Russia as a company. Apple Russia also does not report to Apple America, but to Apple International. And so long as they make money, they will continue to. Google deciding to take issue with the war and Russia banning Google products like YouTube have contributed to Apple Russia's market share to grow from about 20% to 30% since the war started. This beats even the Chinese companies like Xiaomi. Apple is huge in China as well for the same reasons. Apple produces underpowered, overpriced devices that have incredibly developed and streamlined software in order to get the most out of its products. They produce many of their products overseas, so they do not have to worry about American taxes and tariffs and the countries in which it operates are usually grateful for that. Their OS is regionalized for each market, and they have a presence in each market they are in with stores and offices. They hand out many jobs and they offer a way to make money in each economy. Having Apple in your country is a win-win for each country they are in and their multi-national approach to business is the reason why.

@koilamaoh4238 Steam has the ability to be a walled garden. It's why I do not use the Steam survey to get a pulse on hardware trends as the largest contributor to the survey is information from China as they have the most people. There is a version of Steam called Steam China and China has the ability to block what they want on the platform for the most part however it requires moderation on their part and cooperation on Valve's part, and Valve does in fact comply with China on most things.
