  1. The IRS goes after the little guy with impunity. They rely on fear intimidation, and taxpayer ignorance of the law. If you get audited and disagree with the decision, get a lawyer. They don't like that and tend to want to make a deal. You can post a surety bond in the amount they say you owe. It freezes interest and penalties while you dispute it.
