This is worrying about trying to hinder the EPA. The rightwingers on the Supreme Court have been pro-polluter for a long time and some of them-like Clarence Thomas-have been getting "gifts" like free vacations that would be expensive for most people from people connected to coal and oil companies. So there is reason to ask about corruption as well as ignoring long established legal practice.
8
"where is the opinion like they are paid?" Clarence Thomas is probably the biggest example but there has been reporting of expensive "gifts" being given to SCOTUS members for years. Many people would be within reason to ask if that is bribery. Though requiring SCOTUS members to go through rightwing political litmus tests isn't exactly all that encouraging anyway.

Some of his staffers and advisors from when Trump was in the White House wrote it. He wouldn't have to read it because they would tell him bits of it and as long as Trump got a big enough bribe or favor he would sign off on any questionable parts-which there are many. Plus he tried to put a small part of it into action as he was on the way out already. So no, Trump being too lazy to read is not a protection.

I feel like I already pointed out Hungary is a taker nation when it comes to the EU and it-plus Orban's corruption-depends on money continuing to flow in from the EU.
3
Yeah, but Koch has held many parties. At least some of which a rightwing political activist that also happens to be on the Supreme Court attended.
3
This message was brought to you by a bot created by a firm Exxon subcontracted to do PR for itself.
3
They did. The Clean Air Act involved trying to make the air cleaner. The Agency that is supposed to do that has being doing its job in the years since. This is about trying to undercut it doing its job.
3
Thank you for that quote. Is there a good place to find/reference it? He is absolutely correct about Orban.
2
It comes from US History. Believe it or not pollution became a problem that many people supported the idea of government doing something about it and some politicians way back were elected on the notion they would.
2
"And then the next administration with new 'experts' can reinterpret it. Rinse and repeat. That's not how it is supposed to work." This is confusing actual experts with political appointees. The actual experts are supposed to stay with an agency since they have training and experience. The political lackeys come and go at the top but they are not the ones doing the actual research nor should they be.
2
"They control policy and the aforementioned 'experts'. So no confusion. Change of administration, change of policy, reinterpretation of the law." And what happens when they start swapping out experts for political lackeys? Then you have a situation where people may not understand the science or, worse, will lie about what it says.
2
Lets do that after every member of the Supreme Court lives up not to being an activist and also can prove they didn't take large amounts of pricy "gifts" that can amount to bribes.
2
"Shouldn't states reconcile on their own?" Sometimes States need a place to go when at least 1 State refuses to reconcile. Guess what level of government gets involved then.
2
Recognize a global problem or make a problem worse? Since Trump seems to favor Putin's warmongering reality indicates the latter.
2
"All three letter agencies that don't follow the letter of the law should be abolished." Those agencies were created by the law. They were created to enforce and follow the law. Some people who are lying about following the Constitution now are trying to wiggle themselves and their polluting buddies out of having to do that.
1
No, sadly they don't. Instead they would rather pay back polluters and ignore both the US Constitution (if they can find a way to) and legal tradition.
1
I see you are here trying to earn your 5 Rubles.
1
Orban is putting himself and his corrupt buddies before his own nation. They got rich at the expense of people living in Hungary and the elections they rig to hold on to power come at the expense of the freedom of Hungarians. Plus if the EU ever cuts off the money a lot of people will end up poorer in Hungary since Hungary is a taker nation when it comes to the EU.
1
No. The DOJ sued because VA State gov was found to be breaking the law and that law was passed to keep US citizens from being wrongly taken off the voter rolls. GOP groups have been caught trying to claim US citizens were either supposedly dead or moved as well when neither was the case.
1
Trump and Orban like to hang out together because both like corruption and trying to steal elections. Orban and his henchmen steal money from the EU that was intended to help his own nation. Orban also uses gerrymandering to rig Hungarian elections for parliament. Trump is already trying to nickel and dime the US Taxpayer this year while just being a candidate for President and tried to steal the 2020 Election.
1
They aren't trying to end the war. They are trying to make it easier for Putin-started this war-regroup to finish off this war and start other invasions.
1
@bubbagyro1 It is very questionable if Trump believes in God. Also he has no love for peace, his support for Putin's warmongering is actually evidence of this.
1
So is this your account that you post on whenever you aren't busy accepting bribes and laughing at how you got your current job through tokenism?
1
It isn't suing for removing illegal immigrants. The lawsuit is over trying to remove US citizens from the voting rolls at a time when that is illegal. A law was passed requiring a time period because State governments were caught trying to remove US citizens from the rolls in order to suppress the vote.
1
"donate a few extra million to cancer research" They could. Yet that doesn't undo the pollution they are responsible for nor engaging in what could be described as corruption within the US government.
1
@T.R.R.Jolkien My comment does not but if I am an activist is that what qualifies me for the Supreme Court. Seems political litmus testing is a qualifier to get on that court these days.
1
@T.R.R.Jolkien Under this article so far, probably. This is a rightwing activist move by individuals on the Supreme Court. Is being a political activist what now qualifies someone to be on the US Supreme Court?
1
If JD Vance doesn't want to spout utter bs then he wouldn't have to worry about getting fact checked. Funny how running into someone pointing out when something flat out wrong on the facts is being treated by some Trump folks as unfair. I think fact checking should be done throughout a debate.
1
The attempt at stealing the 2020 election was done by Trump and it failed.
1
If people were prosecuted for treason and punished then Trump would be in prison already.
1
Do you not know much about US history, the English language, or both?
1
Actual citizens are losing here. The winners are polluting companies that are paperwork citizens (what is referred to as a "legal fiction").
1
Why not pass a bill providing all US Citizens with IDs and also registering them to vote at the same time. BTW some of the GOP doesn't care about IDs anyway. Voter ID is part of the law in my state and Trump tried to steal the election in 2020 anyway.
1
Did someone delete or flag my earlier comment? I pointed out that in my state IDs are required for most people in order to vote. Despite that Trump tried to have my ballot and the ballots of thousands of other people thrown out rather than be counted because it isn't Voter ID that really mattered but which excuse to try to steal an election by.
1
@MARR_2024 Also plenty of states require photo IDs to register to vote. Yet that doesn't stop Trump from claiming the election was supposedly stolen in 2020. Of course it doesn't matter if the vote count was correct or not, he just wanted to spread lies to get people to help him in his attempts to steal the election. Foxnews was successfully sued for its part in spreading his lies. I feel like I mentioned something about this already yet I don't see my prior message.. do you?
1
"This woman was a cheater for Kamala debate" Do you mean she pointed out when 1 of Trump's lies was too ridiculous to go unquestioned or unchallenged? If so then I'd say that isn't cheating. I think they ought to have fact checkers for most debates. If the candidate wants to respond to a fact check sure, but it is a good thing if someone points out when a claim is flat out false.
1
@lauram9889 Say, did you see any other comments by me here? I could swear I already commented on people needed an ID to register on my state. Yet I don't see my comment here.
1
@Jen-p2d7c That could be taking as paying for lies as well as truth. It doesn't confirm much either way. FYI in my state in order to register to vote someone has to show 1 of a limited group of kinds of ID. And ID is generally required to get a ballot too.
1
Some of them may. Sadly some don't want to realize how big a liar Trump is... and I wonder if more than a few accounts positing here are bots.
1
Republican propaganda is plenty active online it seems. Maybe is they were as concerned about fixing problems as they were as lying about them or creating more then things would be even better here in the USA.
1
@Wolfe-xz6tr In invites corruption. Most free nations should avoid it.
1
I've heard there are some connections between the 2-it and Project 2025.
1
More likely the GOP AG is trying to remove US citizens from the voting rolls. The GOP has tried that trick before. And in 2020 many of them tried to stop US Citizen's votes from being counted. Maybe the GOP could just stop trying to rig or steal elections.
1
Supposed "little guy" being execs of polluting companies?
