Orwell had a lot of foresight and I'm glad he wrote what he did. I find it ironic that people complaining about Socialism crushing liberty often find themselves supporting conservative leaning political figures that favor rigging elections, preserving corruption, pushing propaganda, and promoting censorship. On the positive side democracy's value was not missed by Orwell. If he was physically walking the streets today I wonder if he would be both scared and hopeful by things today.
