Not a "Brit", from the US, but I look at this and figure the political class liars and charlatans very much includes Brexiteers. When we had our Civil War the southerners who wanted to break away said they were doing it for rights but really were reactionaries intent on preserving a system of tyranny (slavery). Also we change Presidents every 4 or 8 years-and representatives ever 2 years if we feel like it (and provided someone doesn't rig the election), yet the UK is not in a position to change if it is a member of the EU or not every 4 or 8 years. So protecting people's ability to change their mind (as they can in a democracy) isn't something sticking to one and only Brexit vote really does.

JohnB Wright And then enough people have changed their mind about leave that they would rather not do it-especially since many were promised something different from what they see now. So leave is not the majority is anymore. Since there seems to be 3 options on how to go forward they should hold a referendum on which to do-including narrowing it down to 2 which would be the final options. In the US the first election would be similar to a primary.

JohnB Wright I wouldn't be surprised if a minority of people are furious but they are still a minority. Also when politicians lie people have a chance to vote them out next election. What way did Brexiters give people of the UK to rejoin the EU if it turns out the promises being made were false ? (and it seems they were)

JohnB Wright Perhaps. And I welcome more democratic elections. Especially if they include one with the 3 options using that vote to narrow to 2 and letting the winner of those 2 stand for Brexit. If you are correct (and I was wrong) about how people feel then you have nothing to fear from such a vote. Part of the reason I said what I did is because I checked polls on Brexit earlier this year from the UK and the % of people who said they would vote for remain increased. Since you mentioned Mr. Farage I'd point out that here in the US he has visited to support Trump-who actually got less votes than main person he ran against. Yes I know there is a legalistic loophole that gave Trump the White House anyway, but where I am I may have more to complain about when it comes to democratic elections and not following the will of the people than you do. That said I currently look forward to the next elections and would actually be happy if they came as early here as the ones you referred to over there.
