Comments by "pplr1" (@pplr1) on "Why Do You Hate Conservatives? | 5-Minute Videos" video.
So did you start being dishonest about Global Warming as well in order to become a conservative-that is what I saw her do here. Not only by being dishonest on computer models that are often correct but leaving out many other different types of evidence that also show Global Warming is happening. And that isn't the only issue she was deceptive on.

@kauboy9816 Love your neighbor as yourself is the 2nd most important commandment. Yet it is not what I see from Republican candidates for office these days. Instead it is a combination of deception and scaremongering. Loving one's neighbor generally doesn't mean lying to them so you can gain power.

So you started selling drugs I take it. That would be making money by selling people something that will make them feel better but not fix their problems.

@richardasmus9426 Who said Republicans take responsibility vs Democrats? Often the reverse is true-especially when government budgets are at hand.

Did you catch that there was lying about Global Warming and the evidence that shows it in this video? She may have done it in a calm voice but that is what happened. People should have values, but usually dishonesty is not a way to express them-or at least not a positive way for positive values.

@shescraftea9107 Thank you for your reply and saying we should try to come to an understanding. We agree she did say models projections didn't turn out to be. But what she said wasn't true. Many computer models did. I recommend reading a politifact on something Charlie Kirk said a month ago. It is titled 'For climate change environmentalists, "not a single one of their predictions ever come true." It turns out they did and some people claiming otherwise after the fact are just saying some that was wrong on the facts afterwards. We agree people don't have to "hate" each other and it would be a good thing if we tried to understand each other more. I remember years ago when a repeated claim made about Global Warming was that it wasn't happening. I change I've noticed is that more people-often conservative-are now saying it is happening but then trying to say it isn't happening for the reasons the people who made the predictions that turned out to be correct said it was. I figure since the people with the models that turned out to be correct were correct about what would happen then they probably were correct about why since that is what was part of what they based their models on. Liberals and conservatives can and should talk with each other without hating each other so thank you for supporting that. Part of that discussion can be if we can test if something is true or not. We probably cannot do that on ever issue or everything but there are some things that can be checked on. Anyway, thank you again for your reply.

@shescraftea9107 "being exploited to grow government control" I've hard this before. But it was argued by people who said cigarettes aren't really that bad cancerwise and rules related to them were simply about control. Let us therefore be careful about assumptions and ask if that particular argument itself is a false narrative. Regardless, thank you for being willing to look up information. Please let me know when you do and what you did or didn't notice.

@shescraftea9107 Engaging in a forum is often a good way to discuss something. And good for you for continuing to question. Like I mentioned before, please let me know when you read what I mentioned.

Oh no. If she is going to repeat propaganda properly it helps to focus on it. She did said misleading things to people on multiple issues but she had a calm attitude while doing it.

Or conservatives just lie to themselves. That is part of what this video was. It initially presents itself as talking to progressives-and 1 point does hold true (on abortion) but not others. The worst may bee claim about Global Warming and computer models-it is straight up deception.

"see Miami..for further reference"?? Miami is raising some roads and sidewalks because the place is flooding more with higher sea levels. Even worse people don't need predictive computer models that have increasingly been correct (not wrong) but just look at changes in the last couple of decades where records show higher temperatures. Rightwing censors also have tried to ban discussion of Global Warming when they got control of state governments. Rick Scott in Florida when he was a governor is not the only example. Scott Walker in Wisconsin did so as well with publicans by the state's Department of Natural Resources and Matt Adamcyzk-the last Republican state treasurer for the same state pushed through a ban on it being mentioned by state employees whose work relates to public lands. It isn't simply refusing to believe computer models. It is being dishonest about them and the many other pieces of evidence that show Global Warming has been happening. Of course a new lie added to that is that-since the evidence is getting too large to deny-finally admitting Global Warming is happening but lying about burning fossil fuels as a cause. The initial lie was about the what, not it is moving to the why.

Unfortunately it is also repeatedly dishonest. Sometimes outrightly and sometimes by pointedly leaving out details that contradict its narrative. Straight up lying occurred on issues related to Global Warming and authoritarianism. The computer models are frequently correct and she left out decades of evidence of multiple kinds that-looking backwards rather than modeling forwards shows Global Warming is happening. More than once political conservatives at the state level have even tried to ban discussion of Global Warming in order to help cover it up. But that brings us to aspects of authoritarianism. Are political conservatives for protecting workers that want to speak of forming a union? Are today's political conservatives in favor of ending gerrymandering? (A practice which lets either major party rig elections in a state thus denying the will of the people in picking who represents them in the state legislature.) The answer is no. Interestingly enough it was the progressives who are and Democrats (progressive and not) who actually put forward bills to stop the practice only for Republicans to filibuster them.

@P1GLATIN Nice thought but supposed "non profit" organizations get involved in politics all the time. Prager itself does a lot of politics. Many of the videos it has on youtube aren't actually there to educate people but to convince them to support the GOP. That is why a Prager video on the history of slavery, racism, civil rights, and both major parties is done in a misleading way that actually hides some of the history from viewers but does so in a way that actually helps the GOP (such as leaving out the process of the 2 parties switching positions on civil rights as took place during the 20th century.)

You don't need this kind of video. Republicans may like it because it gives them dishonesty they want to hear rather than challenging them on if they are honest about an issue. This video flat out failed to be honest about Global Warming. Not only are the computer models often correct but there is other evidence she didn't mention also indicating Global Warming is happening-much of it the now decades of recent records showing there is a warming trend. I also noticed that in her discussion of authoritarianism she implied it was simply taxes and regulations rather than undermining the will of the people.

@silverfoxsmith8582 Or it is full on correct. The woman in the video said some falsehoods but they were falsehoods that people wanted to hear.

@kauboy9816 There is a good amount of wisdom in what you say. And improving our lives is something should work for. When it comes to politics we can still try to have calm conversations with each other to avoid falling for scaremongering. Thank you for mentioning that people-including we ourselves-have to try to live up to standards of how others are treated-including how we treat people.
