@earlysda Jesus? God is an imaginary character invented by human beings, and Jesu, even if he was a real man, he was something of a delusional hippy who talked too much about sensitive things, so Romans killed him 2.000 years ago. He didn't "spoke" anything into existence.

@Xheph I understand the concept and I know those stories... But if you read it as a historical account, it is simply an old book with old stories that may or may not be true. Without god, those are just stories that may be of interest to historians.

@Xheph I understand all of that, after all, I teach that, one of the subjects I teach is the philosophy of religion. I understand perfectly how our societies were influenced by religion, by hard concrete dogma, and the inability to think otherwise, I understand that in the period when Europe was under religious rule, the Dark Ages, nothing prospered. philosophy and logic were slaves of theology and that was called scholastics. Scientist are changing their beliefs but based on the principles of scientific methodology, they accept new things, new hypotheses but if there is proof, if experiments support the hypothesis, if it is falsifiable... And nothing of that applies to religion and religious way of thinking. "I think you would find benefit in understanding where our thinking originates from by analyzing the purpose behind the stories"...I devoted my life to understanding those things, and sure, I am learning new things every day, but to tell me that I am somehow wrong because I don't accept magical way of thinking is simply funny.

@Xheph Well, I am not holding a lecture here, this is a comment section under some YouTube video. This is the same as speaking in some bar, or on the street, it's not a cathedra or some magazine.

@ "Since Jesus spoke this world into existence" Who can "spoke" the world into existence? You believe in Jesus, you believe that Jesus can somehow speak the world in existence, but he is not a god? You are backing because you feel cornered.
