There is no "age-related death" strictly speaking... All human beings are dying of some illness, and the connection of old age with those illnesses is directly related, our body with time is not as it was, it is full of "mistakes" and if we add an unhealthy lifestyle, you will eventually have a heart attack, stroke, cancer... And we know why we age... The best analogy is with the Xerox machine...We start as nice printed text on a sheet of paper, but as time progresses, all cells in our body, our tissue is being changed with new, new cells, old ones are dying, and new ones are being made, but those can have mistakes because replication method is not perfect...so aging look like taking that first text, making copy which is almost similar, very few mistakes, then making a copy of that copy, more mistakes, and then a copy of a copy of a copy until we get to the point when the text is barely readable... and that is happening with our body, that is aging...
Those organisms, jellyfish, medusas, hydra, those are very old species, and they are very primitive, analogy is a short text with the big font on that paper, so they are doing that replication much more easily, and they can regenerate parts of their bodies, in some instances just a part of some such organism can have enough info for whole organism to "grow" out of one piece. Their simplicity is helping them, and they have some tricks, like that one that can reverse its aging process, or telomers of the hydra.
