It is true that the USSR had the whole territory of Tsarist Russia, but the USSR was separated into 15 republics, and some were unvented, like Belarus, and Ukraine. There was a process "Ukrainization", a process to turn those who lived in Ukraine into the ethnicity we know as Ukrainians. So, I bet you want to say that the whole of Ukraine was once part of Russia.

It will not be the whole of Ukraine, Russia wants to protect Russians in Eastern Ukraine and probably take Odesa which historically was a Russian city and connect that small region, Transnistria with Russia.

They are winning big time and if Ukies are so foolish to launch that offensive, Russians have such solid positions, Ukies will be pulverized and I hope that will be the end of the military of the Zelensky ultranationalistic regime.

The rest can exist as a neutral country, Ukraine will not enter NATO, even if Russia didn't start that war, my country, Turkey, and a few other neighboring NATO countries were and are ready to put VETO to the addition of Ukraine in NATO. @michaelknight8459 Genius, Ukies are using civilians as a live shield. And Russia is protecting civilians much more than those Ukies... You think it is hard to destroy that small region that Ukies hold? Russians are not doing that because there are civilians, but eventually, Ukies will be done, and their line of defense will collapse. I hope Russia will liberate everything up to the Dniepr river.

Some went there because of economic reasons, not because Russia is a communist country. There are 30 million Russians out of Russia, and most of those are not in the USA. There are a lot of Italians there, Greeks, people from the whole world, people of so many nations... Only Native Americans are real Americans all others are basically immigrants or children of immigrants...But you are selecting one ethnic group Russians, and just because some are there, there is communism in Russia... You are not the smartest in your village Pablo....Keep growing your favorite vegetable, and don't poke your nose in the internal affairs of other countries, because your country is not exactly democracy or full of freedom.

@DangGoodLuis I hope that Donbas and that big landbridge will become part of Russia, or separate republics close to Russia because Ukrainians showed an incredible level of ultranationalism since that coup that the USA made in Ukraine and put their puppet as a president of Ukraine, Russian minority, 8.5 million strong Russian minority and all that are Russophiles are a target of that regime. That regime banned the Russian language, banned all rights that Russians had in Ukraine, and made Stepan Bandera a national hero, no matter that he was a nazi sympathizer and did horrific crimes, and murders and wanted to make ethnicity out of thin air, something that ironically communists did later google "Ukrainization". That war started in 2014 when 2 regions of Donbas decided that they want to be separate republics because Ukrainians started tormenting, torturing, and killing Russians...14.000 of them were killed from 2014 until the start of that war. And Russia was intentionally pushed to the limit, antagonized in so many ways, but the drop that spilled the water from the glass was the smart idea of the USA to put Ukraine in NATO... That is the same as suddenly Russia deciding to make a military pact with Cuba, Venezuela, and other countries in Latin America that don't like the USA...Google "Operation Condor" to understand why all in Latin America hate the USA. And you think Russians are aggressors because they defend the Russian minority in Ukraine, and want to change the regime the USA planted there and to erase that idea, Ukraine to enter into NATO? So, according to you, the USA was the aggressor in all wars since WW II in which the USA participated... Are you aware of how many wars they made since those days? Are you aware of how many wars the USA started as an aggressor in the last 3 decades? And there is a precedent which the USA made...America illegally attacked and bombarded Serbia just because they wanted to make that puppet state Kosovo, and the justification why Kosovo should be taken was..."Albanians in Kosovo are a majority and they want to live in a separate state, not in Serbia"... Now the situation is the same with Donbas, those people are Russians, the big majority are Russians, and Russia does what the USA did in Serbia...If you are not a hypocrite, you will admit that Russia has the right to defend itself and Donbas, and those regions where Russians and Russophiles are the majority have the right to be separated, Donbas to be separate from Ukraine, like Kosovo is separate from Serbia.

It is true that the Russian military made a mistake at first because Russia wanted just to annihilate the ultranationalistic regime that the USA put there via that coup in 2014. But, Russia is winning big time now... It is winning at every point along that long front, Russian military destroyed that 450.000 strong Ukrainian army that was trained by the USA just for this, to wage war against Russia, and after that Russian military almost destroyed the second army of Ukies, and now there are only remaining of that second army and some divisions trained in Poland, That is a third army of Ukies, and you think Russian military is a joke? Russians proved that they are much tougher than all of you, bigots and haters think, it is winning, and soon if Zelensky decides to start that "big" counteroffensive, they will be pulverized... You think some tanks and a few military jets will change something? @brad6317 Oh, the Russian minister for logistics was doing such a thing??? I wasn't aware that there is such a ministry in the Russian government... And that son of a b. sold engines and weapons to some third country? Well, Prigozhin had the right to be upset, and in times of war such thing, such a crime should be punishable by the death penalty. For all who are corrupt and think of doing such a thing to know what will happen to them.
