your wages are a lot higher than china they get a lot more bang for each dollar they spend pus the PLAN is mainly new build while the USN ha alot of old platforms so more of the budget is spent on maintenance while PLAN is mainly new builds so less maintenance so the funds can be diverted to new builds. the PLAN is heading to its peak it will not last but Long term as their hulls will age but for now its in a great spot

@chrisalfano589 no but the people in China are paid a Chinese wage min wage china aprox 375 USD/month, US aprox 1160 USD/Month assuming it scales which is a big if the US has to pay 3-4 time the amount for it personnel than china has to, thats not just the solders that the dockworkers and all the other support

@chrisalfano589 "we spend triple of what China does….but we need more" could it be because "We aren’t getting paid Chinese wages" "I get paid ALOT of money" so just maybe the chinese wage bill is alot lower than the US so for every $ spent they get a greater return in military ability

I do not think there has been a large scale sea invasion since WW2 with satellites there is no chance of surprise so Taiwan will have an army of 2.5 million+ to welcome any PLAN sailor that swims ashore after the land based AShM have sunk their ships Russia is struggling and it can drive its tanks right up to the front line
