  1. Australian here and this has to be some of the most bizarre garbage I have ever seen the American Right go with. I actually went to college in America in the late 80s and beck then there were a bunch of sex scandals among the Far Right Christians and the bizarre part of it was how dismissive of their own fallibilities they were and how their supporters gathered around them. Now that same section of America is doing this sort of thing. In a way I am not surprised because they have a history of this sort of vile behavior and it is vile. I know that for MOST Americans Simon Biles is a national hero and considered a role model for other girls. She would be a national hero and role model in almost any country, but not these sorts of people. What America needs to realise is that every country has these sorts of people AND YES Australia has them too. What we all need to realise is just how quickly these people can drag ANY society into a deep dark hole that's damn hard to get out of. I'm an engineer not a poly-sci but I did study Orwell in High School and that was the real message from Orwell. If you are not careful, people like this will steal your country out from underneath you in the guise of benevolence or patriotism or some other value and then put you under their boot.
