As an Australian the reason there are still British is inbreeding. Its been there a long time in the British aristocracy and these days its pretty much everywhere. Its why people left for America, Australia and other places. Its why you gotta be careful about mother and sister jokes with the Brits.

@Mark28644 I'm Australian descended from Anglo-Saxon-Pictish-Breton stock. When I was in high school we studied British History from Roman times right through to the 20th century. Almost any Australian over 40 has a reasonable idea about British history. I went to college in America and for most of them history started in 1620 when the Pilgrim fathers landed. Everything before that is the dark ages except for those 34 years starting around 2022 years ago. I'd leave the rest of Britain out of the inbreeding issue except we've all seen British football fans. We don't suspect the cricket fans because we know they can at least count. We've tried eliminating it here too, but without luck. It still persists in a few places like Tasmania and some inner city hot spots like Collingwood and Cronulla.
