You have given yet another perfect example of the lies told by the Neocons. EVERYONE should go and watch the PBS Frontline Documentary "Rumsfeld's War" I remember it from when it was first aired and it showed stuff that so few people saw before the invasion and exposed that the whole invasion as not only a scam promoted by a small group of Neocons, but also a how it was badly planned. There's at least 1 private channel here on YT that has it. Sam is 100% right in that there was no mention of the "future threat" that Bolton mentions. What the documentary "Rumsfled's War" points out is that the Neo-cons wanted regime change across the Middle East and to have any chance of that America needed to get rid of the regimes in Iraq and Iran. That was central to Neo-con ideology at the time - get rid of Saddam and get rid of the Ayatollahs. As far as mistakes go the biggest by far was people like John Bolton, Paul Wolfowitz and Donald Rumsfeld NOT LISTENING TO THE MILITARY. Go and watch "Rumsfeld's War" and you will see footage of Eric Shinseki advising congress on what the task of invading Iraq would entail and then see footage of Paul Wolfowitz saying the military had no idea. Paul Wolfowitz not only never served in the military and was later kicked out of the World Bank after giving his girlfriend a job at the World Bank. If you watch that documentary you'll be stunned that John Bolton has the audacity to say what he's saying.
