Comments by "Tony Wilson" (@tonywilson4713) on "Jordan Peterson Spreads Right-Wing Conspiracy Theories About Antifa" video.
This whole argument by Peterson has been asked for several years now. He was here in Australia BEFORE the COVID Pandemic around the time his book 12 Rules.. was being promoted and he brought up the issue of radicals and how to identify them. He said words to the effect and I have heard him say similar numerous times since: Its easy to identify people on the right who have become radicalised and become a problem - they become racist. He said/says that its more difficult on the left because there's not a simple single indicator like racism. He has suggested at times that there maybe a number of signs that if a person displays 1 or more of that indicate that a person has gone too far. 1) If JBP identified this issue several years ago then WHY hasn't he got a better answer, because he's still spouting the same answer he had more than 5 years ago? 2) How does JBP explain people who have been dragged into right wing conspiracies like Qanon but are not racists, because there are Qanon people as well as Trump supporters who are African American and its hard to call them white supremacists? I think JBP should have stuck to being a college professor, because if you have seen any of his lectures from 7 or more years ago he was good at that. He engaged his students and challenged them to think which is what a good professor should do. Because ever since 12 Rules and fame infected his brain its been a long slow slide downhill.

@gnubbiersh647 Ok. I think the simplest thing is people have gone too far when they put an illogical ideology before basic reality and are willing to use violence to defend their position. What does a racist do other than put an ideology of my version of homo sapiens is better than your version of homo sapiens and I'll kill you if you disagree. What do Qanon clowns do other than put fantasies ahead of reality. Most don't get violent but Jan 6th proved some do. Over on the Left. What did the Soviet, Chinese and other communists and socialists do other than say we are all equal and if you disagree we'll kill you to prove it. Don't get me wrong I don't find communism capitalism, socialism, religion or distrust in government to be inherently evil, BUT IF you take it too far and lose grip on basic reality and then start getting violent to defend your position that cannot be logically defended then you are (at least) starting to go too far. Where the Left differ is they have more variety of ideologies than the Right. They also tend to be slower to react violently but when they to they wind the dial up to 11 and go straight to rage mode. Like they did in the French and Russian revolutions. Nobody should forget Mao killed millions with his great leap forward. "Who needs farmers they only feed people. We need factory workers they make stuff. Oh - you disagree here let me send you to the re-education camp." Nobody should ever forget the killing fields of Cambodia where a French educated clown decided to take a country backwards a couple of hundred years to an agricultural feudalist state. Pol Pot started by killing every teacher, every lawyer and anyone with an education so that nobody could ask questions like: "Is taking our nation backwards a good thing?" Jesus handed out free health care, fed the poor, gave free education and condemned the greed of the religious leaders of his day. Try asking an gun loving White Christian Nationalist who takes millions of dollars from his followers to explain that.

@margotpreston And don't get me wrong there's stuff about JBP I can't stand. The bit that infuriates me to this day was one of his remarks at Cambridge Union. You can find the whole thing but there's an excerpt titled "Professor Jordan Peterson on climate change and climate policy at the Cambridge Union." He's asked by one of the most self righteous pompous Lefty M0R0Ns in the history of pompous Lefty M0R0Ns in the most pedantic self righteous demeanour the most long winded question ever and he simply answers "No" That's not the bit I hate. The bit I hate is the explanation that follows where he waffles on about people like Bjorn Lomborg who is an absolute attention seeking self aggrandising clown and how he and a panel of ECONOMISTS including Nobel Prize winners decided what the human race needs. FYI - I'm an engineer and I farking hate economists. All they ever do is get in the road of other people and interfere.

@anderseckstrand7033 Sounds like you are a student and if you have watched his lectures and I have watched a couple of them, then yeah I'd agree he's very good (or was). I have actually got into some seriously nasty arguments over that too. These days he is very good at arguing points especially when they are around or involve elements of psychology. I can't blame him for that. I'm an engineer and try and argue everything in engineering terms because that's where I am best qualified and experienced. Where I have a problem with Jordan is when he gets into areas where he's NOT as well educated or hasn't done the research. His views on climate change being the best example I know. His views are all from that UN group he was part of and that group was dominated by economists. Economists have caused so much harm in so many fields that NOBODY should listen to them, but they have found ways to inject themselves into everything.
