  1. That's actually a fair assessment in among a pile of stupid comments. Yang failed to ever understand how ruthless politics has become. I'm Australian and this is a problem across the Western Democratic world. I have a friend who was in Australian student politics and he explained to me how ruthless that is. Its like the Hunger Games for future politicians and the survivors get to go into the big game. I remember watching Yang do a small interview with a host and 2 "undecided" voters. He was really impressive about some issues I am familiar with in terms of education and training. BUT having good ideas means NOTHING in politics right now. Look at what Matt Gaetz ahs just done, without having a single redeeming trait let alone any policies or getting anything done that benefits anyone but himself. No matter what good ideas or intentions some people have, if they don't understand how politics works its like sending people into war armed with swords and shields against artillery and automatic weapons. Here in Oz we have same basic problems. We get the news from Britain and Europe and they're similar (if not worse). I was in Canada a couple of years ago for work and loved the place but their politics are almost as toxic as Australia's. The most bizarre thing was (at the time) Canada had a scandal over government contracts that was so close to a scandal in Australia I could only tell the news reports apart by the accent of the reporters.
