Those numbers are changing as more votes finally get counted. I just checked Wikipedia which has the AP published results. Trump was down about 800,000 but with more being counted he's now about 500,000 ahead of 2020. BUT Harris (despite more vote counting) is still about 14 million down on Biden's 2020. Irrespective what's happened is the Democrat strategy of "Here's the candidate WE CHOSE for you and you have to vote for her because the alternative is worse!" ahs catastrophically FAILED. Unlike 4 years ago when those 14-16 million agreed that the alternative was worse this time they finally threw their hands up and said "WTF we've had enough of the Liberal Elitists telling us how to eat, shit, think and vote!" The forgot the most basic reality of the American political system. You have to find a way to inspire people TO TURN UP I just watched part off (because its so infuriating) of a New York Times podcast where Nancy Pelosi says the election was NOT a rebuke of the Democratic Party. The disconnect from reality is staggering.

@coolsenjoyer I'm Australian and from an outside view that is one of the most perceptive questions ANYONE has asked in the aftermath of this disaster. I hope you don't get trolled for it. They all noted that the polls were close BUT NONE of them were asking WHY the polls were close and as a result they missed what was happening. Maybe the most amazing an bizarre thing is there's a NYT podcast and Nancy Pelosi claims the result is NOT a rebuke of the Democratic Party. That's the level of disconnect that's going on.
