The EV is not dead but Tesla is in a huge amount of trouble. If you compare their share value to other car companies and look at how many cars they sell the valuation makes no sense at all. Tesla's share value should be about 1/10th what it is. So most of Elon's wealth is from hype not value. I'm an engineer and Elon's actually done 2 things we all should be grateful for. 1) He gave the rest of the car industry a monster kick in the butt which they needed. 2) He gave the aerospace industry a similar well deserved kick. Here's the really stupid thing. IF (and its a big if) Elon had simply accepted what he'd done as good and NOT gone overboard with all the hyped up crap and BULLSHlT sci-fi fantasy nonsense then his wealth might be a lot less but it would be a lot more secure AND there wouldn't be so many people hating him.

What did you really expect of these people? What does anyone really expect of these people? Politics across the developed world is now BROKEN by a combination of hopeless people being put forward by mainstream parties AND the money that makes those parties malfunction. I'm Australian and BOTH our mainstream parties are just as broken as all the other mainstream parties across the developed world. They have these clustered groups with power that kill off ANYONE who threatens their power. Eventually these parties end up with a menagerie of substandard people getting elected on the party name brand and those candidates can't get a damn thing done because they have no skill sets let alone ideas or policies. Plus starting with the Reagan & Thatcher revolutions governments started out sourcing more and more of the senior management of public institutions to consultants. Here in Australia we've spent over $20Billion on consultants and NOTHING works any better.
