That's about the only comment in this list that's worth replying too. The rest is just a heap if whining. The amazing thing about the return to Robber Baron Economics is that the single most important university for neoliberal economics is the University of Chicago and why neoliberal economics is also called Chicago School economics. Do you know who that it was the greatest Robber Barron of the Robber Barrons John D. Rockefeller was the main person to help fund UC when it started? Also out of UC came the consulting industry, via McKinsey who was a professor of accounting at UC. The consulting industry is now a plague on democracy.

@insidetheuniverse1 I don't actually have a problem with anyone being insanely wealthy including being a billionaire. The problem I have is how they got that wealth AND how they hang onto it AND how they manipulate politics with it. Those are the real issues here. Instead of people whining we need to deal with the real issues. How do they get that wealth in the first place? How do they hand onto it despite having to "supposedly" paying higher taxes? AND THEN there's the biggest issue of all. WHY does anyone allow them to MANIPULATE politics? Because once you start asking those questions and searching for answers you get the ROOT CAUSE of why democracies across the World are failing. Here's a hint. After the 2022 midterms Thom Hartman mentioned a report that said America's billionaires spent over $900 million supporting various candidates. Of that $900M over $800 was supplied by a group of less than 25 people out of the 800+ billionaires in America.

@insidetheuniverse1 On the gilded age there's a problem with gilded ages. Like real gilding its just a layer over the top that makes things look like they are solid gold when in reality its just a very thin layer over the top of standard materials.
