  1. As an Australian who went to college in America the disturbing part of this is how dysfunctional BOTH the Dems and GOP have become. YES just like America our political parties malfunction, just like they do in Japan, Canada, Mexico, Britain,... and everywhere else. The difference is, when the rest of us malfunction its kind of "so what?" Look at Britain's malfunction over Brexit. Its barely affected Europe or anywhere else. BUT America is 1/4 of the worlds economy so when America malfunctions it affects the whole world, because no mater if we like it or not our economies are interlinked. America malfunctioning is even bad for places like Russia and North Korea, because sooner or later it will affect their economy and sometimes very badly. Love it, hate it or something in between the world needs America to function properly.

  2. And so you all know its not just America's politics that needs addressing its American companies operating outside America and especially American consulting companies. If you are unaware of this issue go and watch Mariana Mazzucato give any of her talks on the subject. She's just co-authored a book with one of her PhD students Rosie Collington on the subject. Its about companies like McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG and EY and what they are doing all over the World. FOR INSTANCE - RIGHT NOW there's a major inquiry into PwC here in Australia over a conflict of interest scandal. PwC was advising the Australian Government on new tax laws to prevent multi-national companies avoid tax. Why PwC was hired in the first place begs questions, but it was all supposed to be confidential AND IT WASN'T. PwC were caught spruiking to their corporate clients that they knew how to get around the new tax laws that they were advising on. There are not only calls for PwC to be immediately banned from government work but for criminal charges not just to PwC but also to their clients who engaged them on the new tax laws. In legal terms its called conspiracy.
