I'm Australian and we have spent years trying to deal with what happened here with White Settlement and several of the events afterwards. I had nothing to do with any of the horrible crimes of our past, but if we are NOT honest about those events then we are destined to repeat them, because there will be people like Elon Musk who's living with the denial of his own family's past behavior in South Africa AND they will take advantage of that. On the flip side of that I will always warn people to NOT ram guilt down the throats of people who had nothing to do with these sorts of events. It will always lead towards resentment and out of that resentment you can have people doing exactly what Elon is doing here.

@onepartyroule The Left going to far with things like political correctness has driven people crazy for 30+years starting back in the 1990s when HR also known as the "Political Correctness Police" emerged. I think a major part of the current Right Wing swing has come from people (who may have thought they were doing the right thing) just going to far trying to tell everyone else how to think. You can't by rules or regulations force people to think a certain way. It never works out and you end up NOT having certain discussions like the one you mention with Yanis V. If you want a perfect example of that sort of nonsense look at a video clip form the Australian TV show Utopia here on YT titled "How To Avoid Offending Your Co-Workers | Utopia"

@BabyBackRibs-h3j You're partly right. I'm Australian and we've spent the last 25+ years dealing with some of our past. Its been some ugly stuff to talk about, but if you don't talk about it you never deal with it. I think what you're alluding too is when people keep hammering guilt trips at people. That NEVER WORKS. Tryin to force your view via guilt does nothing but build resentment and when it finally boils over it gets very ugly, very fast.

People should NOT have to feel guilty about what previous generations of their people did other wise I'd need to go SHITPOST the Italians for what they did over 2,000 years ago when the invaded Britain AND SHlTPOST the Danes, Swedes and Norwegians for what their ancestors did 1,000-1,200 years ago. This is why I hate the clowns on the Radical Left who think shoving guilt trips at everyone is sensible when all it doe sis PlSS PEOPLE OFF. IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU. Or do I need to say it for a third time?

@Lezlee-abcxyz That's because as you allude to the Americans CAN & DO BLAME the Brits for what happened. The fact that things like the Trail of Tears and the Subjugation of Hawaii happened AFTER Independence, is just semantics and irrelevant details.
