Go and watch John Oliver's vid on CRT and you'll find that Chris Ruffo is a vile opportunist. He's the guy who started and made up the CRT campaign. He just saw it as an opportunity to get in front of a camera and grab attention. He's an incredibly dangerous type of reactionary, because he's the type who's smart enough to realise what other people will react to and respond to with predictable results. I don't think he believes much of what he says, but he knows how Fox viewers will react. Think of all those misguided people who went berserk in school council meetings about something that didn't exist. He was the guy behind all of that.
