@jakeslater6836 I remembered there was a UN convention on the rights of children. I checked and its called the "Convention on the Rights of the Child" and was brought into being in 1990. I remembered it because it was signed by many nations with great fanfare BUT there were journalists and activists pointing out that although it said much there was no body to administrate it or even money to run it. When I checked I found something very interesting. On Wikipedia look at the map (upper right) to see who has and who has never ratified that convention. Then scroll down to the section on America to see which President promised to ratify it and then never sent it to the House or Senate.
