Australian here - our politics is a mess right now but American politics is like watching a 747 crash during a tornado and as it crashes it slams into a highway causing a mega pile up including a tanker trailer exploding in a fireball. It then bounces off a bridge as a train loaded with toxic chemical waste goes over the bridge before it finally crashes into a nuclear power station as an Earthquake hits. There is no other political dumpster fire going on anywhere that's as bad as American politics. Its not so much a race to the bottom but a reality show where the winner is declared as the person who can do the most ridiculous thing or make the most absurd claim. I'm waiting for De-sanctimonious is to claim the dog ate his speech notes or Elon to claim that a rat ate through one of the sound cables
