  1. Sadly this is all true and as several other people have commented in the list here various countries have found ways around sanctions for decades. Marc Rich the founder of Glencore and pardoned for tax evasion by Bill Clinton was famous for sanction busting. During World War 2 there were British and German companies still doing business through Switzerland and Spain and Sweden. The same sort of stuff goes on with tax evasion and money laundering. The average person in the street doesn't care where there gas or fuel or energy comes from. Even the greenest of the green movement will turn on a light and not care if the electricity was generated using coal. If you look at the chaos in Sri Lanka, does anyone believe those people on the streets care if the oil comes from Saudi, Iran, Russia or anywhere else.
