And you can expect the Murdoch's people in Australia will start denying it has anything to do with climate change from tomorrow. We had a once in 100 year bushfires as we experience a once in a 100 year drought and now a once in 100 year flood. Rupert Murdoch's a once in 100year piece of crap.

@Aa-ron01 Actually it is important on calling out bullshit when its bullshit. Whether your dumbing it down or not you do need to factual. The denier clowns out there jump on anything and everything they can. Anything that they can scream and yell about they do. If you look into any of the crazy claims made about stuff these days there's 3 types of people making them. Flat Earth, Moon Hoax, Climate denial you name the crazy and there's 3 basic types. 1: The delusional true believer who simply can't be convinced of reality. 2: The gullible ones who for whatever reason will simply listen to what ever is convenient. 3: The snake oils salesman, who knows he's selling snake oil but just doesn't care because he's only interested in making money off of the delusional and the gullible. I know there is nothing to be done with the delusional ones. But you know we can save the gullible form the snakes., but to do that we have to keep with facts because the snakes rely on doubt. The most powerful thing they have is doubt. because once they get you to doubt then they can spin the narrative into what they want. Look at any of Rupert Murdoch's people some of them are extraordinary at it. Trump's another master of it. So you have to call bullshit out when its there to be called out. Otherwise Murdoch and the rest of the billionaires will kill us all as they make money.

@gunsack2427 Seriously how are people as ignorant of reality as people like you are? They can only burn off when its safe to do so or have you forgotten the times when they risked it and instead of burning off the fuel load they started major blazes. They are engaging the Aboriginal elders in helping land control you ignorant clown. EFFING reality deniers like you should just STFU, we've had enough of your crap. When everybody can no longer deny what's happening is gonna get ugly for people like you. Enjoy your ignorance for the moment, it wont last.

@Aa-ron01 Do you understand even the basics of climate change, because a lot of people don't. Its pretty simple if you heat up the planet you evaporate more water and sooner or later it will fall out of the sky. Basically it turbocharges the weather. In a nutshell the side of the earth the faces the sun is getting energy pumped into/onto it by a monstrous nuclear furnace. The other side of the planet is dumping excess energy off into space. We are still getting the same amount from the sun on one side but not dumping as much on the other as a result the entire planet has slowly heated up. When its hotter there's more evaporation. If you have more evaporation you have more clouds and eventually you have these events with huge amounts of rain and snow. It was always called climate change by the scientific community it was journalists who called it global warming because that was easier for them to type. Your remark on vegetation is half right. Vegetation doesn't absorb surface water what it does is allow it to be absorbed. The problem with soil (particularly Australian soils) is that when it dries out it switches from water absorbing to water repelling and if you dry it right out its hard to get it back to water absorbing. What vegetation does is help keep moisture in the soil. So it keeps the soil in a water absorbing state so that when it rains the water can soak into the soil. If its dried out then rain can simply run off the land into the creeks and rivers taking topsoil with it. Its one reason why our environmental scientists (not the greenie tree hugging clowns) have been telling us for a while that we have to stop simply clearing land for pasture as we have done. They've now got the evidence that keeping 20% of native trees and vegetation makes our land more productive as it helps maintain the moisture in the soil. Trying to convince people that's true is the next problem.

@gunsack2427 Look just farq-off with your ignorance. They have started engaging the aboriginal elders. And that still doesn't get round the problem that the season for back burning is getting shorter. I grew up in country Victoria and half my family are farmers so I know about working the land moron.

@mim0381 What they mean by once in a century is the amount of rain that's falling and how fast its coming down. Its not the pattern of flood and drought that's unusual its the severity of those patterns. If you heat up the planet you get more evaporation and if you get more evaporation you'll get more rain and more snow and bigger storm systems. Its called the water cycle and heating up the planet drives that cycle harder. Its like putting your foot on the accelerator - more air & fuel makes the engine run harder and faster. And when you hit the tree it hurts more. This is why scientists always called it climate change not global warming. It was journalists who re-labelled it global warming and caused a lot of the confusion.

@wolfiestreet6899 Well that's a complete pile of bullshit. We have fairly accurate records in some places going back 100s of years. One of the "so called" scandals was when they adjusted the data to take into account the time of day that people took temperature measurements. The Murdoch press tried to blow the whole of climate science up over that and failed. Plus with research into tree rings, soil layers and ice cores they have very accurate data going back several million years. So that's an absolute bullshit claim on your behalf.

@gunsack2427 Seriously farq-off we've had that bullshit claim again and again and again. For the 50,000th time climate isn't about what the weather was last week or last year its how its changed over many years and decades. HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO EXPLAIN THESE THINGS TO YOU PEOPLE? Do you not understand that we have had enough of the denial industry? The tobacco companies knew back in the 1950s that tobacco caused cancer. The actual tobacco companies had done the research themselves so that they knew what the claims would be. Exon did the research into climate change back in the 1970s & 80s just the same. Phillip Morris uses a lobbying think tank in Washington called the Heritage Foundation to do the PR work for tobacco. The same Heritage Foundation is the leader in climate change denial often using the same paid hacks to lie about it as they did with tobacco. You clowns scream and yell conspiracy all the time yet you can't see the obvious one right there in front of you. The entire climate change denial is EXACTLY the same as tobacco denial. Its about protecting a bunch of rich people and their investments. And by the way not only does NASA say it s real as well as NOAA so doe the US Military. NASA -> https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ NOAA -> https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/climate-change-atmospheric-carbon-dioxide Pentagon -> https://media.defense.gov/2019/Jan/29/2002084200/-1/-1/F1/CLIMATE-CHANGE-REPORT-2019.PDF

@stefanbroughton2292 If you don't want to be called a brainless moron then don't preach garbage. The scientific community NEVER called it global warming that was what journalists called it. And its not something that was started in the 1970s. the first waring came in the late 1890s (yeah 120years ago). The Ozone hole is healing it is NOT yet healed and wont be for decades. China does NOT produce CFCs in any great quantity. They got caught and got shut down on that. The science is in and its done and Murdoch's bullshit artists and other liars can claim all they like - IT WONT CHANGE THE FACTS. The can claim NASA is wrong, but sorry its real -> https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ The can claim NOAA is wrong, but sorry its real -> https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/climate-change-atmospheric-carbon-dioxide But I am yet to see any climate change denier even comment on the Pentagon report that says climate change is real and that its going to cost billions extra to maintain their bases -> https://media.defense.gov/2019/Jan/29/2002084200/-1/-1/F1/CLIMATE-CHANGE-REPORT-2019.PDF
