I didn't hear anything about either in this report?????? I'm Australian and I can tell you from our experiences that if power lines are not properly kept clear of trees they can start fires. We had a very bad fire in Western Australia a number of years ago that was started by power lines sparking and setting fire to trees. Don't forget most of our trees are eucalyptus and their sap (which is mainly eucalyptus oil) is highly flammable. The major fires we had in 2019 were mainly started by lightning strikes. Our right wing media (owned by Rupert Murdoch) claimed it was from arson but later inquiries found that was 100% FALSE. Not one of those fires in 2019 was proven in any way that it was arson. The lasers stuff is simply idiotic garbage.

I might be Australian but I went to college at U. Illinois. One summer I drove to California, which included driving across Iowa, Nebraska and then across the rest to SF. So I know how far you are talking about and that's barely comprehensible that the smoke has travelled that far. We've had some bad fires in recent years but these seem to be worse and its only the start of summer.

@neworder736 What are the words for arrogant, ignorant and dickhead in your language? I'd like to be able to tell you "Don't ever be so arrogant or ignorant or that much of a dickhead to think you know how to speak another persons language" and not be misunderstood.
