I'm an Australian engineer and you are the FIRST Person I have seen get this right in a while. The REAL PROBLEM with HOC is that its OWNED by a foreign entity. We are making this same mistake n Australia. I have been arguing for several years that when someone comes here and spends AU$1 Billion on an energy project they are going to take AT LEAST AU$2 Billion back out of the country. There's a basic rule my boss explained to me over 25 years ago on investing. It goes by various names but he called it "1 in 2 out." What he told me and others in our company was that "after you put that $1 in the first $1 out just breaks even. You have to make the second $1 to make money.* That's just for basic standard investments. For these long term investments its more like 1 in 4 out. If you look at how much power will come out of HPC and that it will do that for 60 years maybe 80 then in basic terms the British public will be NOT ONLY paying for HPC but more likely the next 3 (2 x EPR2) power stations in France. If the French both it all up then they'll only get 2 free power stations out of the British people. If the French get smart then they might get 4 free power stations out of the British people. I have done the math its staggering just how much money this thing will end up making.

CAN YOU AND EVERY OTHER CLOWNS GET YOUR DAM FACTS RIGHT FIRST - Brisbane did NOT win the Olympics bid the rest of the prospective cities WITHDREW and Brisbane won be default. All the others looked at the costs and RAN. SECOND - This project has NOTHING to do with the Olympics and promoting it as part of the Olympics is just a LIE. THIRD this is yet another example of where cities with old ageing infrastructure are finally having to deal with reality. FYI - I am an engineer and that story is being repeated across the entire developed world. Nothing lasts forever and eventually needs replacing. Like many other cities around the world Brisbane has grown and grown with some very poor planning and like other places its going to cost $$BILLIONS and in some cases $$TRILLIONS TO FIX. (edit) Other than my gripes about how you promoted this its a dam good presentation. Things like that digital twin are what making being an engineer worthwhile with all the other crap we have to deal with. One additional thing be very careful about economic models. I have been looking into economics and those clowns really are the "emperor running about naked saying look at my wonderful clothes!"

TO THE PRODUCERS OF THIS VIDEO If you want to be taken seriously then don't label your video with utter crap. All we seem to hear these days is "this WILL change the world." Is this anything new? Actually yes. I am an engineer and I know that getting certification for somethin like this is a big deal. It will make this and other similar technologies more common. Will it change the world? Doubtful. Existing industries are highly resistant to change just look at the coal industry and how it has held on for decades despite better technologies. Staggering amounts of money is invested in existing technologies and that sort of money does not like change. The coal industry (again) being a good example of that. Is it an interesting technology? Yes. Is it truly innovative? Not really. Is the certification significant? Absolutely. Can the producers of YouTube videos be more honest and throw less hyperbole about? Please, yes please.
