Aerospace engineer here: Look I'll grant the other ideas may or may not have validity and Ryan would know them better than me. BUT FARKING DON'T WASTE PEOPLE'S TIME WITH CRAP. If you want responsible use of space then DON'T MAKE IT A CONTESTABLE SPACE. Why do people like you have to make everything some fantasy battle ground. I did my degree during Reagan's Star Wars and the department was flush with DARPA money. It didn't take anyone long to realise it was all nonsense but when DARPA is literally shoving money down your throat you don't spit it out you swallow and ask for more. Oh yeah and while you'd be spending TRILLIONS doing this the rest of the US economy would slide into a hole it would not get out of.

@cronoslamar4061 which part of contestable space don't you get? This whole space force thing is a joke. I think Ryan might be yanking chains on this subject. The whole concept is utterly ludicrous and relies on the general public having no real idea of spaceflight.
