Yeah its amazing how often people are repeating the mistakes of others these days. They talk about the money disappearing in kickbacks. During the Asian Financial Crisis it was revealed that out of $30+ billion in IMF loans to Indonesia over $20 Billion could not be accounted for as in it had simply vanished. Most of it was believed to have been sucked up by the Suharto family and their friends. Just this last week (here in Australia) we were told about the Chinese slush fund in the Solomon Islands being sucked up by a group of their politicians as vital resources are being snatched away by Chinese companies. Sometime in the future, if humanity survives, economic degrees will include history classes in how wealthy nations can utterly destroy poorer nations with money and the horrible costs that result that no one can afford.

@AL-hk3oo being honest EVERY COUNTRY has corruption. The only difference is by how much, the type and how its policed. Anybody who thinks their nation is free of corruption is either ignorant or lives on a remote island that has no resources for others to take.

@hplooi I thought I basically said that, but you've added a great point. Its the institutions that are important. Here's a great quote. "Power accompanied by arrogance is very dangerous. Its particularly dangerous when men with no real experience have it - for they can abuse our great institutions." You'll be surprised by who said that and when. It was George Bush Senior during the Watergate Scandal (1972-74) to his sons, which was before he was VPOTUS and decades before Trump. I'm Australian but went to college in America in the late 80s. I didn't hear that quote back then then.
