HEY PATRICK I NORMALLY LIKE YOUR STUFF I am an engineer and I ma trying to understand how to make economic arguments. But when you start with "The demand for electricity has been soaring around the world, and this increase in demand is expected to continue." I want to scream "DUH M0R0N." Guess what if you increase the population of any society you increase how much food the need, how much housing they need, how much water they need and how much energy they need. How hard is that to understand???? Engineers have been trying to tell you F⋃KING M0R0Ns these things for DECADES but "NO how dare any engineer tell a clown with an economics degree something they don't want to hear." You have no idea how much as an engineer I want to scream at you business clowns over this stuff. Seriously why does it always seem to come as a surprise when a power station finally gets so old that it can't keep running??? Or is it simply a case that you are so used to other people maintaining your stuff or you just trade up for something else that you just don't get the idea that things wear out???

Oh and lets NOT forget how projects get behind and get late. Engineers like to build and economists like to overrule them with Milton Friedman's stupidity of "Greed is Good." Yes we've had that rammed down out throats. So projects aren't about getting the job done or on time or anything else its about being able to charge as much as possible while delivering as little as possible. If the client wants better they can par for it. One of the golden rules (and there are several) of not getting sacked by an economist is to NOT TELL THE CLIENT that their proposal has flaws UP FRONT and it should be fixed before getting started. If you do that there's fewer chances for variations and the profit that comes from them. So when you clowns BlTCH about projects going over budget its you M0NGRELS with economics degrees INTERFERING with getting the job done that's the cause AND BEFORE you claim innocence just remember that your little nasty princesses in HR who make the claims that they have the right people in the right places for the right reasons! If HR are doing their job properly and they had the right people in the right places for the right reasons then why would projects be late or over budget????
